Navigation Systems

Prior to purchasing my 2012 LE BP, i searched this site up and down for pricing info, pros/cons, trims etc...

I felt good going into the dealership with all the information that I had researched and the price that I was looking for. I got the exact model and features that I was looking for at the "decent" price (everyone's all over the board with their pricing info not sure who to believe). I walked away feeling good with the car my wife and I wanted (well actually she wanted a highlander until she saw the faux woodgrain interior lol) but all I wanted to throw in for newbs like myself is that there are 2 different nav system options.

I unknowingly opted for the smaller nav with entune that has the cd slot on top of the nav. Not sure how i missed this but seeing other pics and researching a little more other folks have the bigger nav with the cd slot behind the screen. I thought entune was just some more programming apps not an actual different nav unit. Or maybe its a 2012 changeover??? My nav does not have all the mileage and fuel charts and seems a bit small, and I believe I got the crappier audio system (8 speaker instead of 15???)

I just wanted folks to be aware unfortunately I was not, not sure the major differences in fucntionality besides the size of screen and fuel charts? Anyone else have thoughts/inputs...

However, you do get a slew of "Apps" you can use without fiddling through you phone.

You Can always upgrade your speakers. I wouldn't be too upset about it. In fact, if it was possible - I would trade u .

And the DVD based Nav system cost about $1500.00 more I looked into it but decided not too. I am happy with the Entune system a lot better than the sync I had in my SHO.

I bought my 2012 LE with the same option, not knowing there were two different kind of nav system, but oh well.. It's still a 4runner which our family love..enjoy and keep on driving.

That buys you a much better sound system - JBL 15 speaker, including amp and sub woofer.

That was one of the main reasons I got a left over '11 Trail, as the only option on the Trail for '12 on is the Entune.

I agree with you about the it being a better sound system but I wanted the functionality I didn't really care about the sound system maybe in my younger days I would of.
