Question Will 17x8 wheels fit on '11 limited

I have looked around on the forum and seems that people are putting various 17 or 18 inch wheels replacing the stock 20" wheels on the Limiteds.
I'm working with a tire shop locally and was thinking of getting ATX Crawl 17x8 wheels and the guy just called me said he was told by wheel manufacturer they may not clear the brakes on a Limited and the 18s wouldn't either - apparently they do on a SR5.

Anyone know if this is true?

Thanks

Alot of us are running 17x8 :-) Make sure you get the right back spacing.

Brakes and everything else are the same on Limited as the other models. The 20 is all show.

They will fit perfect if they are 6x5.5 with 4.5 backspacing/106.25 bore ........
like these where I bought my ATX Mojave's........ 17x8 Black Wheel American Racing Crawl 6x5.5

Part Number is W/P18578068700

Hey Harper, I looked on the website, and maybe they just didn't have any currently listed, but neither of the black 17x8 atx mojave wheels had a 106.25 bore. One of them was 78.3, and the other was 108. Also, zero offset? I thought it was like 12 or something.. I am about to start searching unless someone wants to chime in quickly

The Mojaves that fit our Toyotas have a 108mm bore and the 78.3's fit GM/Chevies as their hub is smaller. The Mojave center cap goes on from the inside out and takes up the other 1.75-2.00 mm so it fits pretty tight. . Not sure how the center cap goes on on the Crawl's but I assume it's different then the Mojave's.

Wheel offset changes per the backspace and width of the wheel so there is no "set" offset. There's a alot of good info here with a "offset to backspace" conversion chart........ https://www.rsracing.com/tech-wheel.html

Oh yea, even though they say the Mojave is black,it's really a dark gray as are most of their Teflon ATX wheels.

Thanks for replying.. I got distracted and did not initiate above mentioned search. Until something else comes along that I prefer more, I'm planning on the teflon mojaves, but not until I can also acquire new tires, suspension, etc. Hopefully camburg will still give me a good deal for "testing" their setup on the 4r.

I really dig the ATX Mojaves, but might take the chance to drop weight - IIRC the Mojaves are about 34lb each (vs 27lb for the TE).

The 17x8 Mojave's weighed 27lbs 1 oz. and that was with the TPMS sensor in as I weighed mine so figure a tad under 27lbs. I weigh!

Somebody weighed an SR5 wheel and reported to be 29+lbs and the TE wheel was weighed and reported to be 27.5lbs.

There is no official reported weights on the Limited wheels and somebody with a bare one can help us out.

I know this is an old thread... But this point is very important. I just bought some aftermarket TRD wheels and they could not fit over the calipers. I've ordered some spacers, hopefully that will fix the issue.

I was about to ask that also. Do a search, there are several 5th Gens on here that have successfully installed TRD wheels with no issues.

16" TRD wheels do exist. They will not fit on a 4R, and spacers will not change this.
