Just got a 2011 Trail, way cool truck.
What chip sets work best, I seem only to find "off" brands for 5th Gen.
Bully Dog etc. don't seem to have sets for 4R. Do they PERFORM as advertised?

"Adding a performance chip" refers to replacing the ECU with a new unit that uses different software. This usually increases both power and torque output, but increases fuel consumption and may give rise to reliability problems. Furthermore, most manufacturers will refuse to honor your warranty in case of a mechanical breakdown if they find a performance chip on your engine.
I wouldn't do it.

Usually you don't "replace" the ECU. Most chipping these days is done by uploading software into the ECU. That said, there is not much to gain on a an engine like ours. If we had a factory turbo charger already installed, on the other hand, we could bump up the boost pressure and re-map the fuel delivery to make a noticeable difference.
