Key fob locks three, no chirp
That's right....when I push the button, 3 doors lock, driver stays unlocked and there is no chirp. I have to open and shut the drivers door a couple of times and then after repeated curse words it will finally work or I have to use the key to lock it and unlock and then push for the chirp and to set the alarm. Anyone else experiencing this PITA?

First I heard of that one.
Try resetting the ECU by disconnecting the neg battery terminal for 10 seconds or more , then reconnect and try again.
Try different curse words if that doesn't work.
Edit: Just looked in the repair manual ,It's part of the LIN communication system and you would need Techstream to troubleshoot it.

So, off to the dealer then, right?

If battery disconnect was no help.Sometimes that will reset the computer and fix a glitch.Try you other key fob maybe to rule out simple things?
You can look in the manual ...Interior/Front door lock.... but trouble shooting is with techstream which the dealer has.

Great info Gary, I will try the other fob and disconnect the battery this weekend and see if that makes the fix.

Turns out it was a bad drivers door power door lock actuator, 30 minute job. $280 at Advance Auto but remanufactured versions are available on ebay for $125.

Same issue here. Door actuator went out at 41k and then the fan control switch (heat and a/c) went out at 46k. Fan control part cost is $900 ish. Very frustrated with some of the quality issues on mine. Dealer says with more bells and whistles more issues. My reply was I have never had these issues on our 98 limited 4Runner which has far more bells and whistles than my 2011 Trail. Wrote Toyota over it, they said they would have the dealer liaison call me. That was four months ago. No call yet! I have been very Toyota loyal for 30 years but this may be my last Toyo or Lexus.

I think they treat the Lexus owners the way they previously treated the Toyota owners.
My grandmother would say, "They've gotten too big for their britches!"

Toyota's not the only one with door lock actuator issue, lots of brands are having them fail in my opinion prematurely...
I would open and close the latch with a screw driver, then play with the lock & unlock button a few times. If it doesn't work, smack it with a dead blow mallet right at the latch and see if it works again. That's how we test them at work for the most part.

It's kind of ridiculous how the standard of customer care has dropped for Toyota and Lexus. I hear a lot of people telling me Lexus is being ridiculously snobby to its Toyota customers in terms of working on their vehicles.
