They close at six but you will probably here from them first thing in the morning. I am still deciding exactly what I want. They are going to wait to get the lights in-house before we iron out all the details. I think I am going to do kind of a mashup of Ducmonsta's, Jesse1983's, and Hbryanlopez's. They are my three favorite retrofits.

Images stolen from all their builds:

Ducmonsta: (Build)
- Complete custom setup by Oracle.

Jesse1983: (Build)
- FXR-Stage 3 with (painted) orbit shrouds.

Hbryanlopez: (Retrofit Thread)
- FXR-Stage 3 with E46 extended shrouds

Who knows what I am going to end up with though...

In answer to the LED question, I like what Ducmonsta did on the side of his lights. But what I have been hearing is that the LED's are not very reliable and they have been having issues with them. I think Duc even had to send his back because one went out. I am not ruling them out, but they would have to look awesome for me to include them. I don't want to be one of the cheap Audi imitators running around in their ricers with led strips that you can barely see.

Just a few updates with what I have going on right now:

Headlights:
BFC has the lights in house and is starting work, hoping to have them finished in a few weeks. I told them to get creative if they had any cool ideas. I will post any status pics that they send me.

Rack:
My Gobi Stealth SHOULD ship this week. I will hopefully get it installed this weekend, but I am not sure if I will have time. Most likely next weekend will work. I am getting two Rotopax for the rack (gas/water - just like Okki)

Rigids:
The last set of Rigid's came in last week!

Pictured are:
- 6" SR Hybrid (2 for the rear of the rack)
- 6" SR Flood (1 per side of the rack (2 total))
- 10" SR Hybrid (2 for the front of the rack)
- 20" SR Hybrid (1 for the front of the rack)

LED's Anyone?

Switches:
Also here are all my switches from OTRATTW. The left and right roof lights are custom switches (only text change, the normal light says left/right alley light) I have two sets because I am building a rear control panel as well as a front control panel (This will allow you to control the lights, and compressor from the rear hatch). The Rigids, air compressor, and rear locker are all going to be on a protective switch that I am getting custom made from OTRATTW, that should be here soon.

Air Compressor:
The air compressor is here! I was going to make a mount myself, but this thing is way to heavy and any bracket I fab up will not be strong enough. So I am taking it to a fab shop this week to get it mounted in the engine compartment. Ill try to get some pictures of the bracket they make for everyone. I am taking reference pictures from Phillyd2's build to give the fab guys an idea of how I want it mounted.

Suspension:
I picked up some ICON UCA's today off a guy who had them on his FJ.

SO, I now have everything for the ICON stage 6 suspension except the front extended travel CO's. I will be on the lookout for them now. Every part I have got for this suspension has either been from Icon scratch&dent, used from forum members, or during sales. I am going to add up my cost and compare it to the MSRP on Icon's site for the complete kit. It should be substantially lower, I have been finding some awesome deals. Patience can save you money!

That's it for now. I can't wait to get all this on my truck!

I am absolutely loving the switches! Can't wait to see them all in, and def an awesome idea for the rear mounted switches as well!! Good luck with all the repetitive wiring, it should be pretty straight forward, but def time consuming to keep it clean. I patiently await the finished pictures...

Ha Phillyd2, you and me both. The rear switches will be easy, the front ones are the hard part. I have the 6 switch holder going in soon (it requires making a new bracket for the knee airbag), it's the 3 switch holder that is the wildcard...Ill get creative with something I'm sure.

Yea I have been messing with a lot of wiring diagrams lately. I think I have got it nailed down though. What makes it all more complicated is that I am using a "kill" or "safety" switch in both the front and rear for the rigids and locker, that makes the wiring even MORE fun.

After wiring a ton of LEDs in the past two weeks - all with their own switches - I say good luck, jango!

Thanks, I know it will be a big undertaking, but I am pretty confident in my wiring ability...I hope. I'll be sure to keep everyone posted.

Getting ready to order my switch panel for the rear of the truck. I am going to mount it on the side of the driver side wheel-well. (that way I can easily access the back for wiring through the rear wheel well storage mod).

Here is a picture of the panel I just finished designing. There will be another switch not on this panel that will act as a safety/kill switch so no cargo can roll around and accidentally turn on my lights/compressor.

Ha yea that was more of an impulse thing. I talked to Mark (RiDE) when I was ordering the rack and told him I wanted something for the side. He talked to Gobi and they came up with a custom mount that could accommodate a 6" per side (see picture at the bottom of the post). I actually didn't have the lights at the time but figured why the not get the rack with the spaces for lights already built in (because these type of mounts could not be added after)- then I can add the lights later when I can afford them.

I thought I would have the rack before the lights but as it turns out all these light mounts plus the overflow of traffic over at Gobi has pushed my rack back a lot and I ended up being able to pick up the extra set of lights before the rack came in.

So now I am just patiently waiting...

So this Build Thread is officially ALL over the place, but that's ok, I'm just posting updates as I get them.

I heard from Black Flames Customs yesterday and he sent me some pictures of my lights in progress.

It's not pictured but the amber has also been removed. The next steps are adding Blizzard Pearl paint to the shrouds and the high beam reflector, and then adding in halos. I am really liking them so far!

Looks great...

Looks like a great build so far. I can't wait to see how the rack and all the lights turn out. I am debating either doing the rack, skids, or some sort of winch mount next.

Thanks! I am really excited about where it is going. I talked to Sandra at Gobi this morning and they said they were packing the rack - so I'm hoping for a Friday or early next week delivery. I have been wiring all weekend to prepare for the rack to get here. Hopefully I will be all done by the time it shows up so I can just install the rack and connect the lights!

I was unsure where to start as well, but I figured the rack was a pretty versatile addition to the 4Runner, you can use it for transporting small items, storing bags, lights, etc. And then when RiDE offered the group buy I just jumped on it.

My lights are finished! They just need to be heat sealed and they should get to me next week sometime. I LOVE the way these turned out. I was just kind of throwing out ideas to the guys at BFC and they really did a fantastic job on these.

This is everything that they did:

High beam projector painted Blizzard Pearl
White LED bulb in the high beam
FX-R bi-xenon Projectors
White CCFL Halos
Amber removal
Headlight housing painted black
Shrouds painted black and Blizzard Pearl

Can't wait to get them on my truck! Here are some pictures.

Halos On:

Halos Off:

This is sweet how they painted those inner areas. Can't wait to see that on your truck. Care to disclose the cost?
