Got it on tonight. I must he-man bolts too tight because I had two break, had two break on the rack itself when I installed that as well so its probably me not the bolts. If you pop the sunroof up, it touches the insert. I would not recommend driving around with the sunroof up as a bump could easily crack it. I let John know, I am sure it will be fixed, but I do not really care because I don't drive around with mine popped up.

Anyway, some crappy photos for now. I will take better ones later.

Just taking the other two bolts off I broke them as well. I do not know what the hell is going on with these. Insert is in my spare room now sitting safely until I get the new bolts. Probably grab some grade 8 or 10.9 bolts so I do not run into this again. It is pretty difficult to say the least to snap these bolts without damaging the roof.

Word of advice for you guys that ordered these, watch the bolts very closely. The nut and bolt takes just a brief second to cross thread. I would probably also recommend getting some shorter bolts. They come with lock nuts, that could be why I keep messing them up, who knows.

GOBI bolts > Baja bolts...

Not one of mine broke- and they all fit, perfectly.

Just sayin'.

I am thinking I should have had Baja convert a utility rack with lower upper hoop to mimic the gobi stealth. Would have taken less time and may have been less expensive too. Hmmmm...

I just figured a super custom change would have taken forever, but seeing the sunroof insert ship quick from conception to finished product has me wondering.

Picked up some Grade 8 bolts (3/8" 16 x 1" for those that want to replace them). Braved the 106 degrees to put it on with the new hardware this afternoon. Much better, even with using my German Tq wrench

Here are a few better photos. I stood on it while tightening the bolts down on the front, feels stout. I am really happy with the outcome. Don't mind the dirt on the rack, I did not feel like cleaning it for the pics.

You get what you pay for. It seems like GOBI bashing is the latest fad on here, so by all means, jump in!

I agree 100% that GOBI's customer service, well, sucks. The product, however is outstanding. It's worth the money to pay for something that will last and is made well. I haven't heard one GOBI owner on this forum that isn't happy with the quality of their rack!
