Rear power outlet (cigarette) constant power?

I have tried searching but I can't think of another way to ask and I haven't gotten the answer I was looking for. I read through the manual today and it seems that it doesn't stay on. That being said today at the grocery I plugged my GPS in back there and it was still being powered by the outlet roughly 30 minutes later. I want to sort this out before I put my ARB fridge back there and then have the power cut out on me and have to deal with that mess. Thanks in advance.

It most definitely does not stay on. I'm not sure how your GPS was pulling power without the key in the ignition, but it will not stay on for your ARB. My solution:

I installed a second 12V receptacle that is constantly on. Seemed like a much more simple solution than trying to figure out how to bypass what was already installed (though I believe Antman may have figured it out); plus, it gives me an extra receptacle!

No, sorry I did not. It's very straightforward. I purchased the receptacle from Amazon (maybe $9 or so), and it comes with an easy wiring diagram on the back: one terminal for + and one terminal for -/ground. I ran a positive wire from the engine bay through the firewall, down the threshold/kickpanel of the door back into that rear hump. I drilled a 1" hole to receive the new outlet, then simply connected the positive to the positive terminal, and ran a short ground wire from the negative to the top of the wheel well.

Not sure how familiar you are with wiring stuff, so let me know if you need more detail. I might be able to take a couple of more pictures later today.
