Broke my 4Runner.

So, as suggested in another thread, I am starting a new thread.

A week ago, I headed out to the “best off road area in the southeast” for some off-road fun. On Saturday, I went down every trail I could find that was open to Jeeps or larger, beat the crap out of my skid plates and entire underside, all day, I never saw another street legal vehicle . Had a great time.

Sunday: Have to head home in the afternoon, going to take it easy today.
As I am driving up a gravel road, I take a left onto another gravel road, hoping to find some nice scenic, easy trails, only to find that as I drive onto this side road, that I seem to have run into a brick wall and driven off a small cliff at the same time. Completely invisible to me over the hood, there is a washout 3 feet wide and 4.5 feet deep, lined with large rocks, that I ran into at 8 or 9 miles per hour.

How humiliating. My 4runner broken down on a gravel road (not really, but that’s how it looked). My Duratrac was torn in half, so I lifted the 4runner with the hilift, only to find some very ugly tie rod ends, combined with no power steering, I decided to call for a roll back. Turns out, several roadside assistance services all use the same service, which doesn’t work on Sunday, and if you want off of that road, it will cost you several Benjamins in cash, without a receipt, while you ride on the bed of the rollback, as they try to toss you off in 100+ degree temps, while suffocating you with dust and diesel fumes.

To be continued...

Sucks to hear about this! Keep us updated as to what is needed to be done.

On a side note: Where is this "best offroad area in the southeast" at? or whats the name of the trails? I'm from about an hour north of Atlanta.
