Upgrading USB from 1.1 to 2.0 or even 3.0

I was wondering, since the USB connection is so slow between the iPod USB and the stereo, is it possible to upgrade the connection between the 2? I know this could require some work in removing the port in the glovebox, but it seems like that could resolve the iPod problem being so slow. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I might resort to getting a hard drive if I have to.

Thanks for any feedback

The interface (head unit) will need to be compatible to read the 2.0 protocol, which is encoded in the firmware and not an easy task or attainable task.

Sorry to break the bad news

I figured it was something like that or it would have already been done. Thanks for the feedback, it's greatly appreciated.
