The bumper arrived just a few days before i had to leave for work in May. I got a chance to come home for a few days since ill be working in Del. and Philly this coming week and decided to try and install in myself.
I also installed the sliders, skids, and ICON suspension. I'm a firm believer that if you can do it yourself, go for it. Best way to learn about the vehicle IMP.
We used two straps that made lining it up super easy. I think one person could actually install the bumper this way. It would just take a lot longer.
The front came off pretty quick. Helps that the friend i had helping has been in auto body for 20 years..
The trim pieces really did take a little longer than i thought they would.
On the trim pieces we replaced those tiny clips with larger stronger ones. To get the pieces to line up a little better we drilled new holes and used j clips for them.
Using the two straps made lining the bumper up super easy.
final product. Only thing i have left to do is a little custom work on the piece from the bumper to the BB skids. The total install time with a lunch break was around 4 hours. Much less time than i thought it was going to take.
So now that its on i have to leave again for N. Jersey, Boston and Chicago. Can't wait to get back home sometime in Oct.
