Likes and Don't likes about the 5th Generation Runner.

Hi every one as the title says what do you like or don't like about the 5th generation 4Runner? Owners input is important for those of us who think about buying the new Generation.

I like the body style and the real spoiler that houses the hidden wiper.

I don't like the price dealers charge 39+K for SR5 model, I don't like the ugly old style antenna, I don't like that it doesn't come with step bars, mud flaps, the steering wheel is plastic and not lather. It seems that I got way more in my 2008 4Runner then what they are selling in the 5th generation model.

You are about 3 years late to the 5th gen vs. 4th gen pro/con thread.

Do a search!

The worst part of the 5th gen 4Runner is that there isn't one in my garage.

Having owned a 4th and a 5th, I am happier with a 5th gen. Went from 4th Limited V8 to a 5th SR5 then to a TE.

I miss the V8, but that's all.

There is no way in hell I would pay that, i'm just saying what I have seen at my local dealer, the car has a gps and leather but still I think they are asking way too much (2500 too much) for it and it seems all of them at that dealer come with leather seats.

Did any of you ever order a car from a dealer to you specifications? How does it work?

So, you want a leather wheel but not leather seats? Umm, if they have the 'factory' leather then the SR5 has a leather wheel anyway, just like mine. I think you need to do a little more research just on Toyota's site, then a few searches around this site to get your general questions answered.

just went from a 3rd to a 5th gen TE w/ KDSS, both with helpful mods. I miss the more mechanical, truck like feel of the 3rd (heavier steering, more feedback from the controls), also less electronic crap to go wrong. Other than that, I am extremely happy with my choice to upgrade. The interior is vastly larger and more efficient (IMHO) than the 3rd, and even larger than my mom's 4th gen. I like that I get the same power out of an N/A 5th gen as I did out of a supercharged 3rd gen, AND with significant gain in fuel economy. Also, as I was looking for a more family friendly rig, I am a fan of the safety features and the creature comforts.
