Another Conceal Carry option for 4R
So I know there are several threads about mounting a pistol in our 4Runners. Here is what I did:
Started with an empy console.
Placed the Blackhawk Serpa Quick Disconnect Female in place, marked holes with a sharpie and then used a small drill bit in a right angle drill to drill pilot holes. Make sure you test fit this a few times to make sure the Serpa holster clears when you twist into place.
Now once the female unit is in place, click in your holster and you are ready to go. I ended up removing my tissue box holder because it was interfering with the pistol when closed.
So now when I am coming to a stop light, I leave the console open to have quick access to the firearm. You can also install the second disconnect on the paddle that comes with the holster and remove the holster from the truck and mount on your hip if you want to open carry like you can in Oklahoma!

cool but I keep mine on me at all times... what if you were vacated from the vehicle before being able to grab it? I prefer a 430 carry even while driving.... that to me almost borders carrying without a round in the chamber.

I keep my center console full to the brim so that wouldn't work for me. Looks good though, I just bought $10 clip on holster that I clipped onto the dash under the steering wheel.
Or I put it between my seat and center console with my knives and police baton
I modified this knife sheath to fit my Ruger

That's a nice solution. I tried something similar with a 5.11 velcro holster, but the damned velcro kept peeling off the plastic. I just leave it loose in my Console Vault now, unless I'm carrying it on me.
