Can the seat belt warning alarm be shut off? It is really annoying!

I doubt it. If you consistently have reason not to use a seatbelt, your best option is to pull a belt off any Toyota in a junkyard, cut off the clip, and stick it into the socket.

Sure it can. Take it to the dealer. It is in your manual under "Programmable functions that can be modified."

The chime can easily be turned off for either the passenger or driver or both.

I believe this is included in the Owner's Manual. LOL

Or you can find the link right here in the sticky.

As stated in the details above, simply ask your service adviser to perform these customization's at your next visit to the dealership. Most dealerships will try and charge you, sometimes an arm and a leg, for a what ultimately takes just a few minutes. Be kind and see if you can get them to do it for free. Good luck.

Or here...
Dealer Will NOT Program 'Seat Belt Buzzer'
Here's a step by step...once you pony up for Techstream...

It sure was enjoyable 4 wheeling this past week without the chime. I was in a spot where I was getting in n out of the truck a lot and a seatbelt wouldn't have helped much.

Now if I can just figure out how to disable the door chime I can ghost ride in peace.

How about just running the seatbelt behind the seat and plugging it in.

Who reads those things? Hahaha. I stand corrected.

Just got myself the techstream software / dongle last week. Took just a couple minutes to turn off that chime. If anyone in the Los Angeles area wants this done to their car I'd gladly turn it off for you.
to the man.

I know this is an older thread. However, does anyone know if all this info is current for the 2016s? Also, what are some sources for the Techstream software? I would really like to have the ability to do this myself.

Thanks - Bart

search for "techstream" -- reams have been written.

FYI to others: my dealer refused to do this, cited "safety concerns".
