N-Fab Nerf Steps On My TE!

Hello again,

After placing an order online and waiting 2 weeks for them to ship, I finally received my N-Fab nerf steps on Monday! Of course, I immediately went out to the garage to put them on. I mainly purchased them because I have my nephews with me a lot and my oldest nephew is always naggin' me saying "YOU NEED STEPS ON THIS THING". So I finally got them and they are great! Here's a quick picture I got. . .

Nice black TE! I have the Nfabs bars too but from the look of the picture you might have the bars mounted in reverse. The right side on the left side.

Hmm, mine are definitely on reverse from what is described in the instructions, but from what I remember when mounting them, they didn't seem to fit correctly unless they were backwards from the instructions, which I noticed were for a tacoma I think and an FJ, but 4 runner wasn't listed...??

Actually - I just checked my own pic and I guess the 'correct' way for our trucks is to deviate from the instructions...from what I remember. The OP seemed to have followed the instructions, which annoyingly mount the bars wrong for our trucks. Or am I going crazy????

Hmm... I bought mine two years ago for the 2010 4runner TE so I don't remember what the instructions looked like but there wasn't any fitment problems. The curved part of the step points towards the front wheel. Here's a picture of mine.

When I mounted mine, they would only fit one way. The mounting holes only line up when you have the bars on the correct side....which is opposite of what the included Tacoma instructions say.

OH MY GOSH, I can't believe I just realized that (about the steps being different from others)! However, like another user mentioned, the instructions specifically say "curved end toward the rear of the vehicle". My brackets didn't match up right when I put them on either so I guess that's why! I'm getting on that first thing tomorrow and switching them around!

Hey, are you in Cherokee? I go to our cabin in Gatlinburg 2-3 times a year! You'll have to show me some trails out around there!!

They sure look sweet! You guys think the bottom bar gives some kind of slider protection? Is it beefy enough to support the truck? I really like the look better than bump out sliders but want a little bit of protection.

Yes, I live in Cherokee! There aren't many "trails" around, but there are definitely a lot of back roads through the park and on the reservation that are fun to cruise on during the Spring/Summer/Fall.
