Confirmed: 2014 4Runner to get changes
Bill Fay, group vice president and general manager at Toyota, just confirmed at NY Auto Show that 2014 4Runner will see "exciting changes."
Of course there is no word what the changes are, so speculate away.
Will probably debut at LA Auto Show in November.
At least we know now, for sure, a refresh is in the cards.

Add a manual transmission and not only will it reappear on my shopping list... It will rocket to the top and unseat Xterra for my 2014 DD replacement.

Good to know but I wouldn't get too excited.... more fancy electronics and a basic interior re-fresh is my guess. I don't see the likely hood of a new engine or body style. Couple more years before that if history serves me correctly.
Needless to say, thanks for the post!

My guess - LED tails and a minor facelift.

The new Highlander was just revealed here too, and the 3.5L V6 is getting a six-speed transmission. Maybe 4R will get same. No LED tails on the Highlander.

Let me be the first to say it:
Diesel? nope
V8? nope
Manual Transmission? nope
As
@ Jesse1983
the bat stalker said, probably a front end refresh and LED taillights with some minor interior cosmetic changes. My opinion is based on observing mid and full cycle redesigns for the last 34 years on most makes and models of Honda, Toyota, Dodge, GM, Ford and Nissan.

It's getting a new 4 cylinder and a removable soft top.
No wait, that's MY truck. Sorry.

I foresee Toyota picking up Antman's idea and putting cup holders in the rear bumper.

Predictions so far can in no way be considered close to 'exciting' even by the most demented PR guy.
BTW, any link to the news?

Quite honestly they should e-mail him about several of his mods, the LED for the homelink, the cupholders, The flashlight holder and many more. Maybe they can pay him to feed his addiction for fishing and pocket knives...Oh and his photgraph skills....

Jeebus. It's a minivan with swinging doors.
