Swapping out the seats, rail questions and others

Hi, I found an awesome looking pair of seats from an old porshe cayenne and I was wondering if I can put them in my 4runner Limited? Embarrassingly I'm a total noob at cars so I was wondering if its possible and what I would have to do?

If you've got the fabrication skills (or are willing to pony up the $$ for skilled fabricators) anything is possible, but I'm going to bet that it's far from a straight bolt-on affair. Other things to consider are side airbag compatibility and passenger seat weight sensor compatibility. Here's a thread with some more detailed information that might help you: Will Lexus or LandCruiser Seats Fit SR5?

Be prepared to loose the front passenger seat air bag and possibly side curtain ones do to sensors/ECUs in the passenger seat. Try searching threads for 'seat' and/or 'airbag', 'srs', this was discussed within the past couple of weeks or so.

Check the thread Eddie mentioned. With seats from a different make, seat rails will likely need to come from your 4Runner or need new bolt holes in the floor. getting power to the seats should be relatively easy, but you will want to transplant the sensors from the 4Runner in order to keep the seat sensor to work somewhat normal (seat design in the Porsche may make this hard/impossible).

Seat mounted side airbags are likely not going to be an option due to signal differences and the design of the bag may not work with the 4Runner cabin design (i.e. the bag may do you more damage then protection).

Read the other thread for basic fitment considerations.

Thanks for all the info! Decided to instead try to swap out some of the interior materials and take some examples from the maserati grand cabrio mc
"http://www.maserati.com/maserati/en/en/index/models/grancabrio/grancabrio-mc.html" Looks awesome, I wanna try to get the suede, embellished seats etc. Perhaps swap out the seat leather although I like it quite a bit.
