MadH8R Front License Plate Bracket
OK, I've had this in the works for a while, but I had to wait for someone with actual fab skills to help make it. Being in Oregon, my 4Runner came with a license plate screwed to the front. I didn't like it.
You can see by the photos what I did. The steel bracket connects using existing holes. The forward one was threaded. In the rear hole we installed a nutsert. The plastic shroud just clips back on over the top of it all. I wanted to back the entire plate for rigidity. I used plastic to cut down on weight, but went a little thicker for a bulkier look.
I'm pleased with how it turned out. But now for those holes: a) paintable caulk and touch up paint or b) plastic plugs and touch up paint?
