Rear passenger grab handle?
I searched but couldn't find anything on this (perhaps used wrong keywords?). Does anybody know any way to add a grab handle for rear passengers to use while climbing in? My rig is lifted and it's quite difficult for those riding in the back to get in without reaching for the front headrests. Especially for the elderly. I think the 4th gen has them on all four doors.

What's wrong with the handle located over the door? It's there to help people getting in and out.

i've felt that those aren't meant for helping ppl get in (holding that amount of weight) i always juts thought they were designed for holding on while sitting there while riding.. but ya i wish they had better grab area's

FTW!!!
And yes, it's a pain in the rear not having grab handles back there. My mom struggled getting in the other day. When we know we will be driving guests, especially either set of parents, we tend to take the Explorer...rear climate control, vents to the third row, lower entry, and yes, grab handles.

Lexus gx 460 has them. They might fit the 4runner
They are basically the same vehicles.

I added the attached to my front seats for rear passengers. My 6-year old uses them all the time in conjunction with the bump-out portion of the BudBuilt sliders.
Here is the link where I purchased.
Universal Adjustable Headrest Grab Handles (Pair)

Updates!!!
First off, thank you RasJeff for the link. I called them up and see if these were in stock and asked if I can do pick up instead of ship out. Mitch was cool with it and headed out to Rancho. I put them on immediately and noticed they are kind of short so they are really tucked into the headrest and the seat back. So I went back inside and asked if they can make it longer and Mitch had his peeps customized a pair for me. They turned out great and can't wait for the wife to try it out tonight!

That's a really cool idea, great find! May I ask you guys whom have it installed, how confident do you feel about pulling your weight on it? Does it feel pretty sturdy be strapped to the headrest poles? Sorry about such a subjective question

Installation is as easy as it gets. The handles have two loops on each end and they go onto the headrest posts. Put the headrest back in and you are done. The handles themselves have been tested for strength so they should be good. As far as the posts themselves, only shorter and older people need to use them. So I don't expect anyone more than 150 grabbing them.
If you do decide to order a pair, I would suggest giving them a call and let them know you need a longer version because if you look at the my pictures vs RasJeff's, mine has more slacks and it's easier to grab.

@ pimpsta
I'm liking the longer ones, very nice. Cool that they were able to do that for you. Glad you found a solution that works. Love this place!

Hi Pimpsta:
How much longer length than the original product did you request ?
Like how it looks more practical with the longer length.
Thanks to RasJeff for sharing!
