TPMS - worked like a charm

Driving home from little league practice Friday with both kids in the runner my TPMS came on. Truck was driving fine and I only had 10 miles to go. Made it home and checked my pressures, DS rear was at 15psi! Looked over entire tire carefully and found nothing wrong. Pumped it back up and sprayed it with soap, found nothing. Held air all night, went to little league games on Sat and it still held air. Because I don't take chances, took it to the tire shop and they found a nail in it.

I know some people don't like the TPMs, but for me I now feel a little safer. The truck never drove strange even with the low tire, so I probably wouldn't have checked the pressure any time soon. Who knows what could have happened, at the very least it saved me an unexpected roadside or parking lot tire change.

What's not to like?

We have a lot of very useful tech today. B/U cameras, Sonar, and so on. Heck, most of you probably never hand cranked a window up/down, or had to get in/out 4 times to set the mirrors, or ..... oh never mind.

TPMS saved my wife from a flat after she ran over a bolt. "Honey, what's that light in my dash that looks like a flat tire". Ahhh, job security!

Similar experience as the OP. I just wish we had actual PSI readouts w/o hooking up the techstream. I would have preferred those types of improvements over gills.
