I'm a proud new owner for a 2012 4Runner Trail Edition, it didn't come with running board so can anyone recommend a site, person, or shop that installs? I live in the SoCal area, thanks.
Yes ive heard of shipping companies.. how many boxes have u come across for the running boards? I have friends at toyota here and still havent come across any.. so i prefer local until i come across a box.

Check out White Knuckle Off Road Products I had John build a set for my 2012 4Runner and my 1984 FJ 60. Really happy with both, he's up in Apple Valley.
Thanks guys I'll have to do some research and see which fits me best. Won't be doing to much off roading but all sound like pretty legit sites, thanks. and I'll post which one I end up choosing and how it goes, thanks.
Just for clarification these seems to fall in 3 categories...
Running Boards: These are a step to help you up and into the vehicle based on it's height. These offer some protection from door dings but not from rocks while off-roading.
Sliders: These don't allow you to step up and into the vehicle. They offer some protection from door dings (most likely less than "running boards" because they sit so close to the body). These offer serious protection to the underbody from rocks.
Sliders w/ steps: Same as sliders however some do have steps attached to also help you up and into the vehicle.
Depending on your use, you may need something drastically different in function and price.

Got mine from dealer...installed myself (6 bolts per side). Took about 20 minutes/side.

Reason: Spelling...
If you don't need sliders, steps look good on a Trail. It's an easy 5 bolt attachment. I bought mine at 4Wheel Parts for about $330. I'm in SoCal too and if you are close enough, it would only cost you a six pack to have help installing them. NFab Nerf Steps photo follows:
