Why do people keep knocking it. I found it usually to be people that have not interacted with SW and apparently can't wait for the product to be built as they aren't just stockpiled? But cheers

Ive seen this one On other threads. I'm sure it's great quality, but most complain about the design being too bulky and not offering any advantage re: departure angle. It might even make the DA worse than a TE bumper.

Despite a good product, Shrockworks is horrible with communication and they have some poor business practices. As an example, I ordered a set of skid plates at full price, and I had them on my truck the next week. However, people who ordered skid plates in a group buy still didn't have theirs after waiting patiently for months during the same time that my skid plates shipped.

I thought the ARB was the bulkiest of the bulk, no lines or anything clean about that design. And my front bumper definitely gave me a significantly better approach angle, I couldn't say anything about the rear bumper as there isn't one available for my gen.
Also their communication throughout the last groupbuy was great. Kept me updated, answered any questions I had throughout the process via phone or email, let me know what winches would fit with the product. Turned out great was delivered when promised and the discount was awesome. Like I said if you aren't in a rush and can wait a few months its a great option.

I'm curious as to what is different with this one versus the previous version?
- Does it work with the Gobi ladder?
- Does it overlap the rear lower bumper?
- How does it work with the tailgate lock? leave OEM bumper plastic in place?
- How does it compare to the stock bumper? improved angle?
- How does it work with the factory spare? (i.e. can you still use the OEM location?
- Is the tire carrier removable?
- Any options to relocate the factory cam since it's covered by the tire carrier?
If you are looking for looks, it's a very nice option. Most of the questions that persist from the first version are function related. Hopefully Justin will see this post and provide some details.

I know personally that it took 10 months to receive my bumper when I ordered it from them. So there...
You really need to stop jocking sw so hard
With that said, the design just looks like a bumper on top of a bumper. If you fall off Into a rock when wheeling is the bumper just going to bend into the stock panels? The departure angle doesn't seem any better either

So there?! Really, are we going to be 5 year olds about this. I apologize for your long wait time as mine didn't take that long and arrived when promised? Did you have a custom bumper made with different options. Did they not answer any of your questions or comments during the fabrication process?
Quit jocking them, what did you end up doing with your bumper from this "horrible" company that makes a product that doesn't offer improvement over factory equipment? Oh I see you put it on your rig.....and kept it on. If you truly disliked them you would have asked for your money back or sold the product.

I like the idea of leaving part of the stock bumper for the lines, Toyota made it pretty hard to add aftermarket bumpers to the 5th Gen. The 14' Refresh looks to be even harder...
However the negatives have been pointed out.

Your statement was that most people that complain have not dealt with them, I have dealt with them and was unhappy.
It is a plate bumper, they are a dime a dozen now but back when I ordered it, it was the only option available. It is a good bumper but not any better than DeMello or ARB. I would never ever give Shrockworks another dime of my money every again.
You are obviously a big fanboy or maybe even a employee of sw because you are really fighting hard for their reputation and for their group buy. You really seem to have a vested interest into what other people think of sw. Honestly sw had their chance, they were first to the market for the 4th gen and if they would have kept their promises to their customers and not lied to them like they did about lead times they would have been a lot more successful than they are now, but they slacked off and left a huge void to be filled and several other excellent companies saw that opening and went for it. Then they designed excellent products and took SWs market share and that's where we are today... Sw trying to backpeddle to get back to the top like they once were and the rest of us hating them for being such a horrible company and lying to us for so long
