Also, can you guys tell me if your alarm will go off when you pop the hood? Supposedly the SR5s might not have a hood switch, but I am not sure about that...I just read it somewhere.

I am guessing Tech Stream is a software you can buy that comes with a plug for the Rig?

Yep, except you get the plug off ebay usually, and it comes with uhhh "unlocked" techstream software, lol.
The actual TIS Techstream is a Toyota paid subscription service software, that Toyota tech usually subscribe to, but the price is very prohibitive for most hobbyists. That's why we buy the cable off ebay
Read here for all things about techstream: TOYOTA TIS Techstream

My Toyota remote start came with a hood switch for installation on SR5 models, so I believe you are correct.

Tap the glass but the alarm didn't go off...maybe I didn't tap it hard enough or the sensitivity is set for the alarm to only go off if the glass is broken.
Armed the the alarm waited till the security light blinked and opened the hood from the inside...no response from the alarm

Has anyone been able to get the alarm enabled for a 2014-2015?
My 2015 TEP has a slightly different customize menu and none of them have the security system setting available.

Techstream 11.10.034...
I have the same problem, no "option setup"...2016 SR5. But I do have "Security" option with broken glass sensor.
Anyone know how to enable the alarm?

I work in electronic security industry. We use something like this to test glass break sensors. https://us.boschsecurity.com/en/prod..._products_5783
I'm sure you can find something similar. Put some broken class in a bucket and shake it around while inside with system armed. It might work.
Oh. If you know where sensor is and are close enough shaking a set of metal keys will also trigger alarm.
