Problem with Key Remote and Locking/Unlocking Doors

I just upgraded the speakers in my 2012 SR5 T4R and added in an Amp and Subwoofer. Now, there is a really long delay in order for the OEM Key remote to lock/unlock the vehicle. It seems that until the amp stops drawing power and eventually turns off (auto), I can't lock the vehicle, and this seems to take almost a minute. Also the clock display flickers until the amp/sub turn off. Anyone know what's going on? or how to remedy this so I can use my key remote to lock the vehicle once I park instead of using keyhole on the door to lock the vehicle?

The OEM remote fob will not work if there is power to the ignition (and probably if there is power to the accessory too), so if I had to guess, however you hooked up the amp is feeding back power to one or both of these circuits. That would explain why the remote will not work until the amp turns off. I honestly can't tell you how to resolve this because I have no clue how it is all hooked up, but I suggest trying to isolate the power signals and remote turn on signals better (maybe using relays). If you can post exactly how it is all wired into the factory system, then we can try to troubleshoot it better for you.

Basically, since the Stock HU had no remote switch, the remote wire from the amp was tapped into the ignition. So, after turning off the vehicle, I have to wait about 60-90 seconds before I can use the OEM Key remote to lock the doors or just use the keyhole in the door (but that gets tiresome)

You tapped into an ignition source that stays hot after the key is out. Need to find a source that is only hot in accessory or run key position. Im at work but if you don't fund a wire I can help you find one later today!

Jeff, are you thinking OP tapped in to an ignition source that stay on for a little bit after you turn the key to off, like the window/sunroof control? If so, wouldn't that turn off once you open the door? I think he's having problems after he opens the door and get out of the vehicle so I still feel like he might possibly getting some kind of power feedback from the remote turn on wire, but it's hard to say w/o looking at it physically.

HI88SR5, I would do what Jeff said and try to move the remote turn on wire to something that powers on when the key is in the accessory position. The easiest one I can think of is the cigarette lighter socket, and if you are getting any power feedback from the amp to the cigarette lighter socket it shouldn't be such a big deal and shouldn't affect the ignition not powering down after you turn off the car. What do you think Jeff, Antman approved?
