TE Gobi mounting brackets

I finally got my Gobi Stealth today after a 9 week wait, its a solid rack. When i got to the portion of mounting the bolt on brackets to the roof, the directions are clear, but the way things look when installed does not seem right. Every part except the first rubber strip and the white tubes seems to sit directly on the Toyota rubber strip that runs in the channel. It seems to me that this would all be recessed and only the actual bracket would be on top of the rubber, not the plate with the two foam pads.

Does anybody have a close of picture of the bracket set up on a TE? I have looked at lots of pics tonight on here but cant find one showing the orientation of the bracket to the rubber strip.

Thanks

Or I could ask, did anyone have to trim the Stock rubber strip when installing the Gobi?

Awesome Antman!! That is exactly what I wanted to see. I did it right! FYI, the Wifey just texted me after driving through a frog strangler, half a foot of water on the road. I am leak free after the first test.
