Was looking for a TRD, but could not find anyone in Houston area willing to come off sticker. Started looking at TEP w/o KDSS and no dealer would go below high 38k.
Luckily found a leftover 15 TEP w. KDSS with 406 miles on it. Never titled. Not the color I wanted and it had KDSS which I did not want, but beggars cant be choosers....
Sticker 41,830, bought for 37,4xx OTD incl TT&L, no trade....

I have no idea, which is why I was hinting you ask the dealer to explain. I have not heard of any paint issues with the 4runner (some complain it can be a touch soft but I think that's unrealistic expectations)
For reference my 2014 TEP w/ KDSS was ~38,500 +TTL. If you can get them to remove the costs for those extra's I think that's a solid deal.

Sounds like a good deal. Which dealer? I'm from Houston too and some guy on autotrader near the area selling a TEP 15 KDSS 5k miles on car for 36k. I think that's a bad price

I am having a hard time cracking below the $39k mark on a TEP w/KDSS in either white or gray. I am in the Midwest and have been trying dealers within a 500 mile radius or so. Seems like a few guys on here got down below $38,800 for what I am looking for but I don't seem to be having the same success. The best a local dealer would do is $40,100 on one with 537 miles. I am wondering now if I should hold off until 2017s start rolling out or if I should axe the KDSS option to get down to where I need to be.

Just a guess but maybe there are only a few dealers that want to sell one below invoice?

I'm looking for a black on black trail premium with rubber mats. I can't seem to crack the $37K mark. I have bought several vehicles from internet sales teams. But no one wants to deal with me past 37K. I know dealer cost is $35700 but there still allot of room between that and 37K. Any tips for cracking this mark. I'm in Lexington ky and have gone out at least 500 miles in search of a better deal.

Where did you get the $35700 figure from?

2016 White Trail Premium no KDDS:
MSRP $41,741
Purchase Price $38,300
After Dealer Fee & TTL $42,300
There were only 2 White Trail Premiums in all of Florida and every dealer I talked to couldn't get one unless I ordered it. I didn't have time to wait as I'm getting out of a lease. Luckily 1 of the 2 was at a local dealer but they wouldn't budge off the final number, not even $50. If I wanted the car I pretty much had no choice. I still think it's a reasonable deal.

I found this site 2015, 2016 Toyota 4Runner Prices: MSRP, Invoice, Holdback & Dealer Cost I'm just guessing that it is close to what 2016 are. From other sources, I think this is close but not 100%.

A guy a few posts up paid $37k and change for a leftover 2015 with 406 miles on it. I'm not saying you should pay more than you're comfortable with, but new 4Runners have a market price that is apparently quite a bit higher than the dealer cost figure you found.

Purchased 2016 Limited 4Runner
Hey everyone!
New member here, been reading in the shadows for sometime. Just bought a 2016 Limited 4Runner Magnetic Grey.
MSRP 47,310
Negotiate price down to 43,400 + 3% New Mexico tax. No other fees.
Talked to financing got 2 years extended warranty which brought it to 100k coverage. Paid $650 for that.
Purchased the vehicle outright with cash. Wrote my out the door check for 44,050.
Vehicle came with 3rd row, automatic running boards, cross bars, weather mats, Karr alarm.
Putting tint on it as I write this. Will put some pics up soon. I love this vehicle and can't wait to turn this into a trail machine.

Included in that price is state sales tax which is 6.25%, and title/license fees....
