KEY TAKEAWAYS
The automotive industry experiences seasonal trends, with peak demand occurring during spring and fall.
In the United States, car dealers experience the most difficulty in selling inventory during the winter months, particularly in January, February, and into early March.
As the weather improves and people receive their tax refunds, car sales increase during the spring months.
Demand often increases in the fall months when some manufacturers release their new car models for the coming year.
Historically, December has been a slow sales month for the U.S. auto industry; however, starting in 2013 and continuing through 2019, December sales have improved as car dealers have offered better deals and discounts to clear their inventory before the end of the year

I read the article and there is one exception, an important exception, regarding 4WD vehicles. And that is, 4WD vehicles surge during the usual January, February, and early March slump which applies to all other cars.
If one is to believe the article, it appears that the only window that might be optimal for 4Runners is June-August.
Is this the reality? Or is it just as good in September-November when you are buying the outgoing model year they are trying to clear them off the lots?

Gullo Toyota in Conroe. This one came from a dealership in Beaumont as a dealer trade for another. We had been looking for one for about 2 weeks so even though I wanted white, I jumped on this when he found out it was headed in. I actually like the Magnetic Grey better. I don't think they have any more TRDs but PM me and I'll give you my salespersons contact info.

Carvana just picked up my 2019 ORP with 10k miles today. Gave me 43,200 for it, more than 2000 over the original msrp. Vroom offered almost 43,700 but I was already pretty locked into the carvana deal and didn’t want to start the process over. Just stupid money they are paying right now.

I bought my SR5 P 4x4 in March. They were very easy to bargain with in Massachusetts. I basically told them I wanted 11% off, then sent me a quote and I gave them a deposit on the phone.

For kicks I checked Carvana and Vroom the other day for their offers on my 2018 ORP w/ KDSS. Carvana: $37k. Vroom: $40.5k. I paid $36700 back in October. Crazy. Still not selling it. Like it too much

Had two dealers in different states tell me they can't even factory order one for you now. They get what Toyota gives them.

2021 Venture MSRP $46,014. Discount of $1892.00 = $44,122.00
I've gotta feel OK with any discounts in this market. When I picked it up the salesman said that they are no longer offering any discounts since everything is already Pre-Sold. I contacted 15-20 dealers and only 2 would talk anything short of MSRP.

How many miles do you have on yours? I ran Carvana yesterday on my 2018 ORP and they came back with $34K but I have almost 46000 miles

How much are we paying for new 4Runners these days? The simple answer is too much. I'm glad I bought mine when I did 2 months ago. Sadly, you haven't seen anything yet.

Been following this thread. It’s crazy in SoCal. Tried to go through my credit Union, which uses TrueCar. TrueCar offered the vehicle at around MSRP, but when I contacted the dealer (North Hollywood), the salesperson informed me there was a $20,000 dealer adjustment fee, bring the price to over $66K plus fees. Insane! The vehicle is a 2021 TRD ORP with KDSS and moonroof.
