Which Carson dealership? I called Carson in LA 5 minutes ago and fleet sales manager told me every vehicle - RAV4, Camry, ANYTHING - was $5k over MSRP. Period. I expected it but was super hopeful after your post that maybe they were doing enough volume to be able to avoid the greed everyone else seems to be plagued with.
I will say this though - perhaps these cats are asking $$$ above sticker because they have no inventory to sell thus no revenue thus no way to keep the lights on. I wanna say their being shamefully “price gouging” but maybe I’m not looking at it the right way….

Nope i put a deposit down 2 weeks ago due to
This. No orders allowed just give them a good faith deposit to secure one inbound that you want. It’s a wild time

My dealer said they could start ordering new 4Runners yesterday. I put in an order for a TRD Off Road Premium! 12 weeks minimum wait. They won't go under MSRP, due to the inventory shortage. (At least they didn't go over)
This was my first post in the 5th gen section. I guess I'll be posting here a lot more now. lol

Just picked up my 2021 TRD Pro and paid MSRP (as agreed on last year in fall when I ordered it).
Some people at the dealership were not happy about that.

And I'm sure they didn't keep bringing it up during negotiating financing and add-ons, trying to guilt you into more because you were already getting "such a great deal" on the vehicle.

Made an account because all this dealership hate is just uncalled for. Every dealership is a franchise and therefore each dealership is run differently (yes I know there are large dealership groups). If you don't like your dealership, find another.
I negotiated a 2021 Lunar Rock back in Q1 before the market went wild at 50,000 + TTL. I took delivery this month. The negotiated price was honored, not once was I made to feel they would renege on the offer and not once did they mention they could make more money than the negotiated price today.

I purchased my 2019 white 4Runner TRD OffRoad w/ KDSS, brand new no milage out the door with taxes license fees etc. for $41k. That is here in SoCal. I also got the 12 year Toyota Platinum warranty for $1100 I believe through my retired mom.

We put the order in for a 2021, but he said depending on when they start producing 4Runners again, it could end up being a 2022.

Placed a deposit on a 2022 4Runner TRD Pro a couple of weeks ago. Blind hope that it has BSM from the rumor mill. If not i'll just take my deposit back.

I posted in the Supply Chain thread that my local dealer (Concord Toyota-Northern CA), has very very little stock. Zero 4-Runners as of last weekend, 1 Tacoma, zero Tundras, a few Prius’ and Camrys etc. it almost looks like they’re going out of business.
We bought our 2021 ORP for $1500 off MSRP back in February. We searched high and low for a black one off the truck, but took one in dealer stock (I wanted a minty fresh one!). The one we bought only had 19 miles so, all good.
As a side note, we sold our 200 4-Runner for twice what we originally were going to ask. Thx to a forum member here and my trusty mechanic Frank.

I started out dealing with my local dealer, they didn't have any on the lot and no ETA on more. So I called multiple dealerships within a couple hundred miles of me that listed 4Runners on their site. Every one I called said they were in transit and pre-sold. One dealership mentioned all of theirs were pre-sold except one black ORP so I had him email me the info. ORP with all weather floor mats, sunroof, exhaust tip, and high performance LEDs. It has a "market adjustment" of $2995 over MSRP, so $47,800 plus tax, doc fee, etc. It's more than what I wanted to spend, but at this point, beggars can't be choosers (daily driver is dying) so I decided to put a deposit on it. Expected to arrive the middle of next month. Super excited for it though!

Searched for a few weeks for a cement gray trail special edition 4x4 and contacted probably around 20 dealerships. Put a refundable deposit with a local Austin dealer that ended up not panning out not to mention the sales guy was a jerk. Found one about an hour away but they couldn’t come down from $2k in addons i didn’t want (after initially charging $5k for market adjustment). Finally secured one in Houston for $42567 which includes trail rails, cargo cover and the paint and fabric protection package. The only addition was $890 for a few addons plus TTL. Pretty happy w/ this considering my conversations with other dealers initially about used 4runners. Taking delivery mid July

1 year ago, I was still able to get on the wait list for a 2021 TRD Pro LR, tag was 61,730 (I am Canadian). This is before taxes/levies/etc. That's with a $1,200 discount cuz it was buddy's dad.
Of course, still waiting after 9 months with no car in sight... Province next to me in Alberta had a car available. Sticker was 64,988 and it is black instead.
So i paid 3,258 more than what i could have gotten it for... and the cherry to the icing? I would have saved 1% on the finance rate if i went through buddy's dad and did it in house.
Still waiting for it to come in... hopefully ETA is wednesday and I get the car.
I have been waiting since May last year for a 2020 as well, then changed it to a 2021 model last year September. Deposit paid too....
