Get used to it. Everyone on the internet pays less, gets better MPG, makes more HP and has a hotter wifey/girlfriend than you.

That's why I stopped looking at this thread. To begin with, we're not all speaking the same language with the numbers. Some people are showing their net price after a trade-in, some are not counting dealer doc fees which are pure profit! Of course a dealer will give you another 1K off the "sales" price when they are sticking an $1100 dealer doc fee on the vehicle. Yes, they are that high in some states. Some people are simply lying.

For me, I special ordered* a 2020 TRD ORP (KDSS but no Sunroof, which is a unicorn) with an MSRP of $44530. I got a 7% discount of MSRP for a "sales price" of 41,538.92. But tags, taxes, and the $899 dealer doc fee brings me up to 45,499.99 Out the Door. No trade. The whole ordering process and negotiation took 5 minutes via text and about 15 minutes at the dealership. I texted him my specifications and offer of 45,000 OTD, they said some on in and we'll talk. When I got there they countered 46,000 OTD, after 15 minutes we met a penny on my side in the middle. I'm happy. They're happy. We all win.

Could I have gotten a better deal? Maybe. Off an in-stock model, probably. However, every dealer I talked to about special order* started at MSRP and some wouldn't budge.

* Special Order (or whatever you call it with Toyota, I know it's not really a factory order, you're just putting in a reservation for one with specific options as it comes off the factory floor)

I am new the 4runner forum but on previous vehicle forums I have gotten deals that were as good as described by members on the forums. I think people really should provide screenshots or evidence of the deal if they really want to help other forum owners.

On the Silverado forum their information helped me get 38% MSRP on a brand new truck. On the Vette forums they helped me get 35% MSRP on a brand new Z06. I understand these are Chevys though.

I figure with the dying sales, 10-15% off MSRP with no dealer fees could be possible, maybe I am just gullible.

I know Olympia deals better than most in the area, for instance I got my 2019 TRD Pro a year ago from Olympia for about $2500 off MSRP but 17.6% off MSRP on any Toyota when there are no factory rebates in Washington. Something isn't right here. Please tell us your ways....

I also had a great experience at Olympia. I posted previously about it in this thread but they were by far the best price anywhere within 250 miles of me.

I've been away a long long time. I'm the original owner of my 05 SR5 that has about 257,000 on the odometer now. She still runs great, but shes tired. Looking to get a 5th gen. I'm in Dallas. Anybody have any recommendations on the best dealer around here now? I bought this one at Toyota of Richardson back in 2005.

Agreed, that seems like an aggressive price.

I did see a limited in Ohio listed for $41,xxx with a $50,xxx MSRP on Auto Trader (18% off). There may be other fees or BS though, and I didn't want to purchase across the country. Not worth the time or effort:

Here is another decent deal in Texas:

Always possible they use these to get you in the door and the model is sold (but they neglected to take it off their site), but it appears there are deals out there, but I can't imagine the dealers are making much of anything. I've had dealers show me their profit after the fact, and I have gotten screaming deals in the past, but don't have the time to mess around with it anymore. Getting a little over 10% off my wife's 2020 Limited in Spokane with just a couple e-mails worked for me. And they had the only Limited models on this side of the state. I actually got them to match a price I found in Utah (my home state) from a dealer I have purchased a number of cars from.

I purchased from Autonation, and they tried to tell me they lost money on the sale. While I got a fair price, I didn't like the way I was treated, and I won't be going back there. Their sales manager played the classic (I'll have to see if I can get owner approval, but I've been here 21 years so I think I can get him to deal) crap. I did ultimately get them to Price Larry H Miller's price in Utah after I threatened to walk (headed to Utah in a week which is why I checked there).

I hate buying cars. For those that live near Kenosha or DC, Carmax has two new Toyota dealers, and their prices are reasonable and you don't have to **** around with sleazy salesmen. Also a good place to give you a litmus test on pricing.

I've gotten dealers far from either Carmax to match or beat Carmax's price FWIW.

Good timing. I've just wrapped up 2 weeks of test drives between Richardson and Cowboy. The guys at Plano are scummy scummy, stay away.

Richardson - Got them to 9.5% off sticker before fees
Cowboy - Got them to 11% off sticker before fees

Fees are dollars apart at both.

If all goes well, I'll take possession from Cowboy tomorrow. Their sales guy Scott Henderson is awesome, way better than anyone I dealt with at Richardson.

2020 Off Road, no sunroof, no nav, crossbars/cargo cover/net for 37.5 pre-fees. It's a touch more than I was hoping for, but finding a fairly basic model Magnetic Grey Off Road has proven very, very, very hard in Dallas. Cowboy is even cutting me a deal on tube steps, the one I'm looking at has Predator steps which I don't want. They're selling me the tubes for half off and letting me keep the predators, so...if anyone in Dallas needs Predator steps...

Dying was the wrong word! Declining sales is what I should of said. That chart looks inaccurate. They were down 8k sales in 2019 from 2018.

2020 looks to be worse than 2019 and 2018 already.
