i’ll share as soon as I finalize the paperwork. You won’t find this configuration on the entire west coast. the sliding cargo tray is non existent. I live in the bay area as well.

That's the build that I'm looking for in s. calif, but KDSS doesn't seem to co-exist with the sliding cargo tray, can't even build it on the Toyota website.
Can I ask how you were able to find that configuration? Tnx.

I'm in Santa cruz - It doesn't exist on the west coast. I'm having to ship from across the country. I'll share info once I've signed paperwork.

Just to clarify on how Toyota builds work. A specific build may only available by region. Just because you’re not able to build it in your zip code, it doesn’t mean that it can’t be done.
First, you need to find the region closest to you that offers the build. Then, your dealer can do one of three things. Either they can do a dealer trade for your specific build at another region, or they can put a build request in and wait to see if it happens, or they can try to redirect an existing build to their region/ dealer.
Your dealer is capable of doing any of these, it will be a matter of if they want to or not. It’s a lot of leg work on their end to make it work.
Back when I bought my 16 limited with redwood interior, sliding cargo tray, and auto running boards; it was not available in that build for my region. My dealer put a request in and was denied on 2 order requests. Finally, after 12 weeks they were able to pull one shipping to another region, before it was shipped from Japan. About 6 weeks later, the 4Runner was at the dealer in the exact configuration that I wanted.
If all else fails, just buy out of state and have it shipped to you.

I basically skipped this process. I found 8% off MSRP outside of CA and went with it.

This is helpful, thank you. I am looking for a Pro in Gray and the local dealers didn't seem real interested in finding one--whether transfer or build.

I am in central atlantic region and am ordering the same configuration plus the moonroof from Southeast region. I reached out to 5 dealership in my local area- 2 were not interested, 2 were absolutely not willing to give me even basic pricing via phone or email and the last wouldn't budge on the pricing 1 K off MSRP.
There is still very little inventory and stuff gets sold before hitting the lot.

2021 Black ORP w KDSS/All weather mats/moonroof/running boards
$46,469 MSRP
$45,469 Purchase Price
plus TTL/Dealer BS fees/tax
Had the dealer take off the running boards and throw in the blackout emblem kit at no additional cost. They would not budge on negotiating.

My sticker was around $46000 and the dealer only gave me $500 off..I guess that's the going rate here in southern CA for a white 4Runner Off-road Premium. Most dealers that I called wanted $3-4k OVER sticker.

I'm in Ottawa, so not too much economic downturn to leverage here, you may be able to do better in Alberta. Honestly though, I doubt invoice is $46.5k on a $52k truck, not impossible but difficult to believe there's that much profit.
I didn't shop around as much this time around, but I went to multiple dealers in 2016 when I was last considering a 4runner and the best discount I got was $2800 for a truck in stock on the dealer's lot, and that was going from dealer to dealer with a deal in hand and asking them to beat it.
The dealer I bought from this time to had to do a dealer trade, they offered me what I asked ($2800 discount) for white, black and MGM but I really wanted silver.
Let me know what you manage, hopefully you can pull a better discount than what I got!

In Nov 2019, this was my OTD price on a TRD ORP with KDSS and Moonroof.
...
Mileage: 10
...
Vehicle Price (MSRP): $43,340.00
Rebate: $1,250.00
Customer Discount: $3,293.00
Subtotal: $38,797.00
Estimated Fees: $636.20 (Tax, Title, Licensing, Documentation, Delivery, Handling, etc...)
Estimated Taxes: $1,796.99
Estimated Total Price: $41,230.19
BUT, I bought this out of state, and my state didn't charge the "estimated" numbers, so the estimated fees and taxes were actually lower , so my OTD price was closer to $40K.
Not a super deal, but it was just a hair more than used 4Runners with tens of thousands more miles that I could find.
Today's market is an entirely new ballgame so even a 1 yo comparison is useless today.
