Just for anyone's future reference... with a 2.5" Icon suspension lift, was able to fit a less common 275/70/r18 KO2s (33.16") after removing the front mud flaps and easy front fender trimming mod. No wheel spacers. Probably wouldn't fit without the lift, but haven't seen many people running this size and decided to take a chance.

Anyone running K02 in 275/65/17? Lift install is scheduled for tomorrow and second guessing if I should have gone the 275/70 route. Lift is 5100’s all around, front set at 1.75 with Bilstien B12 special (p/n 36-281817) for 1” lift in rear.

Why not go 285/70?

Main reason is I was worried about the possibility of having to do BMC. I Figured the 285 would be cutting it to close for comfort. I searched high and low and can’t find anyone running 275/65 size. 99% are running 275/70

What wheels are you running? There is no reason to ever have to do a BMC if you select the right wheels. I was running 285/70/17 completely stock, no lift, no BMC needed. All I did is the fender liner mod which you will have to do either way.

I meant to say fender liner. Trying to avoid having to do that, if I can. I have a 2016 trail. Planning on keeping stock trail wheels.

My main question is are the 275/65 the right choice or should I go with 275/70? I can’t find any photos with someone running 275/65 K02’s tires with a 1.75/1 lift.

Fender liner mod is almost guaranteed. The Pro is trimmed at the port even with the stock size tires because they rub. As for your tire selection, there is really no definitive answer since every truck is a little different. I would bet $ that you will do a fender liner mod though.

In case anyone is wondering. I have a 2020 SR5 premium with 2.5/1.5 leveling kit. I just got 275/70/17 BFG KO2 installed on a 17x9 wheel with 0 offset and 4.75 backspace.

Rubbing on the front fender liner and part of the corner of the front bumper on full lock on both driver and passenger side. Rubs majorly in reverse, but only sometimes when in drive. I would've thought for sure it wouldn't rub with 275s but unfortunately it did even with the lift. I went ahead and had to cut part of the fender liner and shave a bit of the front bumper.

FYI incase anyone is wondering

Lift makes very little difference with IFS Those tires fit stock and would have rubbed in the exact same places either way. I ran 285/70/17 with stock suspension and rubbed less than you do. I removed the front mud flaps and did a fender liner mod and there was zero rubbing. Do the fender liner mod and you'll be good to go.

Had to do the fender liner mod and trim bit of the front bumper off. Got it to work though!

Looks great! Do your fronts not eat the fenders at full compression though? It looks tight.

I have a 2.5-3″ lift on my 2016 Trail Edition with SPC UPA’s. I just got 285/70/17 KO2’s installed and have zero rub.

I did some of the fender liner mods. Basically just drilled 1 new hole in the liner and moved both up an inch or 2. I trimmed some of the mud flap where it was kinda poking out into the wheel well and wah-la! I’m good to go. Have only driven it for 10-20 miles so far and nothing off road, but I’ve pinned the wheel in both L-R directions, forward and reverse and haven’t heard anything. I’m stoked I didn’t need to cut any of the actual body. Most cutting was just to the mudflaps. (All this was done in just the front wheel wells, nothing in the back)

For those of you with 295s or bigger, what did you do with the pinch tab near the rocker panel end cap and the bolt holding the fender liner to the sheetmetal? I seem to be rubbing on both. Did you just cut it all until you have clearance?

I cut mine. There’s part of the fender tab still in the way and haven’t decided what I’ll do with that yet.
