Air outlet noise
'14 SR5 Prm
20 degrees. This morning as my vehicle was warming up I changed the air outlet from blowing heat to the main area to blowing down to the floor. When I did this I heard some buzzing which lasted 4-5 seconds and it was coming from behind the dash. So I tested it out. I kept switching it from one to another, back and forth...same noise was heard.
After 5-10 minutes of driving the noise finally went away. Is this normal?

sounds like the servo has an issue.. usually this only tends to happen on high mileage cars. have the dealer check it out.

Air outlet noise
I only have 3k miles. I just don't want to make an unnecessary trip to the dealer if it's normal.

Hi 4Run14,
There may be a pneumatic servo (w/linkage, blend doors...etc) in the dash that is noisy due to lack of use and radical temp changes. Continue to exercise the climate control system and allow the control modules to 'break-in'; the sound should become less noticeable across time. rgds!
rigtec, cheers

Make a note and have them check it during your 5k service.

You're wasting OPs time telling the dealer to check it. If he can't make it happen for them they won't do anything.

Your Toyota care service intervals are at 5k. They change oil at 10k but do a general service on the 5k intervals.
