Anyone installed JL Audio 6.5 C5 in dash and front door using factory HU without amp

Just wondering if anyone has installed JL Audio C5 two ways speakers in the front door and dash using the stock heal unit without an amp? I hate the lack of decent highs and mids in the gen 5 4runner and hoped the speaker upgrade would help. I have a 14 TE with entunes plus and like the look of the stock yeah unit and don't want to change it out. I have read a couple builds with people using the c5 3ways and amps just trying to get some input before letting my car audio shop tear apart my new runner. Thanks in advance to everyone that replies.

That's an awfully high end speaker to not put proper power to it. It would be an absolute waste to try and run it off the stock system power.....and in all likelihood it will not sound good. Underpowered speakers suck.

If you want better sound without adding an amp, I'd suggest a lower priced speaker. I think you'll be much happier if you add an amp and replace the speakers.

That's my plan.
