there are 3 OEM running boards.
R6 (SR5/LE) black end caps, chrome strip
KH (SR5/TE) rigid all black
KG (LE) automatic
now there is another option code called R1 but that only applies to Gulf States and/or Southeast Toyota.
but those are port installed only in those regions.
the R1 have a chrome strip and have tapered ends with NO end caps.

2014 SR54 Runner SR5 Running Boards
Found a parts guy who looked up the sticker number of the 2014 4 Runner SR5 with LE type RB's, that I mentioned in a previous post, and found a part number on the invoice.
Ordered and installed. They look exactly like the LE running boards with the chrome strip and the rubber conformal strip that closes the body panel gap.
Basically it is the same LE running board with shorter brackets.
Part No. is 00012-R1473-01. Says it is for 2014 SR5 and Trail.
List was 660 bucks, but did not like any of the aftermarkets I had previously looked at. Easy install.

Do you have OEM mud flaps installed also? Just wondering if these will fit with the mudflaps installed.

Thanks, but found 00012-R1473-01 part number from an SR5 premium and ordered them. Oem Type that also says for 2014 trail and SR5. Has chrome strip down the edge. Don't understand the part number differences but got what I need. Happy trailen and thanks again. Judgecoco

I would love to see how your running boards ended up looking. I am trying to find some for my Wife's 2014 SR5.
The 00012-R1473-02 sound cool. I asked my dealer about them and they couldn't find the part number. How did you get them? Any way to get them cheaper than $660?
I might end up resorting to these: 2014 Toyota 4Runner Running Boards | eBay If I can't get the 00012-R1473-02.
Really just don't want there to be a gap between the bottom of the truck and the running boards.

I went with the TE boards on my 2015 SR5 Premium. Same ones you see in the previous post above on a TE. I like the look of these because they are all black, functional, and easy to install. They are available on Amazon for around $350 as of Dec 2014

I'm looking at installing the trail edition running boards on a 2015 SR5 too. Do these mount directly to the underside of the vehicle with the enclosed brackets?
This thread ( 5th Gen Running Board Order & Install (2010-2013)) for 3rd party running boards seems to require an existing set of brackets.
I don't have these on my 2015 SR5

I just ordered the 2015 trail running boards to replace my all black 2015 SR5 all black ones. I'm thinking it's the same holes and bolts with no brackets, but i'm curious for the exact answer too.
I'll be selling the all black ones from my SR5 if anyone is interested.
