This thread ( 5th Gen Running Board Order & Install (2010-2013)) for 3rd party running boards seems to require an existing set of brackets.
I don't have these on my 2015 SR5

the oem KH running boards fit the SR5 since its a factory option on that model.
R6 = 2014+ (SR5 & LE)
KH = 2014+ (SR5 & TE)

Anyone have the dimensions of these running boards?
R6 = 2014+ (SR5 & LE)
KH = 2014+ (SR5 & TE)
There was some debate over the width of these (the amount they protrude from the body). Some said, only those with small feet would find them adequate. Others thought they were just fine.
I'm trying to find the right one, that is, the one that makes the wife happy. Those on the 96 4Runner are about 5-1/2"

in regards to the R6 boards
1. there is no gap between the lower LE rocker panel and the board
2. in conjunction with #1 above if your foot is bigger than say a size 8 you wont be able to get any decent footing.
in the pic you can see my foot is pushing against the rocker panel since there is not gap to get a decent footing.
my advice, go aftermarket on the LE if you want a useable board. I got them not for looks but for protection of the lower rocker panel and doors during winter.
I actually don't even touch them getting in/out. I just hop into the seat.

I sold mine for that same reason. Now I have to listen to my wife complain about not having any running boards.
I am thinking about getting the N-fabs. Any suggestions?

I'm leaning towards the KH (Trail edition) boards if I go OEM, anyone have a minute or two to pull out a tape measure?

on the SR5 I would get the KH boards. if I remember the KH actually are usable as steps compared the R6 boards.
just double check on a 2015 with the rigid boards (KH).

2015 Trail
I have a 2015 Trail, which I have had since November, but just this past weekend took off-road for the first time, in the Uwharrie NF. I have the OEM running boards which a friend suggested I remove before running on the trails, but I left them on (the dealer basically gave them to me after I negotiated the deal, so I saw no reason to baby them). I did scuff up the plastic cover on the sides, but other than that, they did ok and the scuffs are not too bad. The OEM running boards on the 2015 Trail have a step surface that is 5-1/2" wide and are about 2" down from the sill, with a stop at the back to prevent a foot from sliding under the door sill. The tread seems to be well made and my foot does not slide. I got them basically to make my wife happy (my first wife insisted I get steps for all of my high trucks), but they are sometimes useful...
If I decide to do much more serious off-roading, I will replace them with aftermarket steel sliders. I traded a 2004 F-150 for the 4Runner, and I had heavy duty after market steel sliders on the F-150 which worked as intended. No body damage on the F-150 in 10 years, but the sliders got plenty of dings, scrapes and dents.

My 2015 came with the slightly longer running boards but always preferred the slightly shorter with the lengthwise billeted holes running along the top. new ones cost about $350-$399 on Ebay. Like others have said, super easy, 6 sets of 2 bolts each, on and off. Update 8/21/15, BTW, I keep getting private messages, the old boards have long since been sold

Thanks Chris4r,
After seeing your post, I ordered the Trail running boards and mounted them on the '15 SR5 today. No problems and just about the same size as the 96 running boards. My 5'2" wife was elated.

Finally picked up and installed some boards (Toyota part# PT 92589140) from EB TOYOTA PARTS | toyotaparts.bochtoyotasouth.com
MUCH less than other dealers, like 1/2.
Was told this is the newest "OEM accessory" running board.
I wanted all black but these have a stainless, silver strip that I'm getting used to.
Install was typical which is fast and easy and stock mud flaps stay.

Do these running boards seem a little low? Installed at the Dealer and they said it was the correct fit. Help anyone! Thank you for your help. Installed on our 2015 Model.

they are the correct running boards IF you have the limited, those are the R6 option code running boards.
that extra space to accommodate the rocker panels on the limited.
they should have ordered the correct ones for the SR5. those running boards don't fit the TE only the KH option codes fit the TE.
