If there is even the possibility of even thinking about going off-road where large rocks live at any point in your future, I highly recommend skipping the "running boards" and spending a little extra to get real rock sliders. I purchased and installed the aluminum "OEM" running boards for my 2011 SR5; then have multiple dings and dents, and the front bracket and rocker panel on the driver's side is significantly bent from a hard impact.

I now take them off (along with the trim piece) every time I go off road. I'm saving for sliders.

There's a group buy going on right now for RCI, including Sliders, at 15% off: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/group-...ll-2015-a.html

And an upcoming one for Shrockworks at 15% off: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/group-...er-2015-a.html

Yes, same rocker trim. They won't fit 5th gen Limited trim or 2010-2013 SR5.

Would anybody be willing to trade the longer brackets for the short SR5 ones, I assume?

I had looked at all kinds of running boards and rock sliders but glad I went with the Toyota running boards for practical reasons. I don't go rock crawling with this vehicle but it's my daily driver. I never use them as a step or any thing like that, because the vehicle is not high off the ground anyway.
Why I like the running boards? Because they really help to keep the vehicle clean, even after driving in the rain. They block most water and dirt sprayed from the tires. What a difference compared to no running boards. Rock sliders would serve no practical value for me.
