Camping/cabin at Moab?
I booked my camp site at the Grand Canyon last night ahead of the Overland Expo. starting to look now at Moab.
so 1 question, and 1 suggestion....
Question:
What is a good good camp site (tent or cheap cabin) at Moab? we're going to be there 3 days. Still waiting on my trail guide to determine what trails we'd like to run.
@ WarnerD9
: Still interested in hooking up and showing off the SportsMobile?
Suggestion:
We need a sticky with campgrounds/lodging listed per state. Would be great to have fellow overlander recommended camp grounds (or even specific sites on a camp ground). B&B's are another lodging type I wouldn't mind having a recommended list of. beyond that, everyone can find a Hotel, but campgrounds and B&B's are (at least in my mind) a more immersive and desirable means of spending the night somewhere.

Was seriously considering the Moab KOA. You can even get one of the little cabins with a bathroom for around $100/night. I opted to reserve a house via VBRO though but was a bit more expensive (the one we reserved sleeps 12 and is about 325/night).
Good ideas!

One of the admins will have to create the sticky, but I have some places that I can list after that....

Start the thread and people from each state can respond with several areas. I can help with Colorado although I am pretty new, I would love to do some research for myself and others.

@ Okki
I would be happy to suggest some sites and hopefully I can meet you down there. You will be there in May? I keep my 85' runner down there. Who is your trail guide? I'd be happy to help out and I have some suggestions. I could certainly try to bring the Sportsmobile down there but I don't want to make the crew with RTTs too jealous.
It looks like
@ Jeremy556
has posted some good links as well. In talking to him it sounds like he gets down there more than I do!

Moab also has a community rec center where you can use their gym and have a shower for a very low rate ($2) I think??? Just another option. I will try to get more details.

I've stayed at the lazy lizard youth hostel a couple times, it's cheap, they have little cabins, it's basically a bed in a shed and they have community showers. Since I grew up and got a real job in a cube farm I usually hotel it now. But I'm always spending all day mountain biking so the hot showers and cable are nice to recover after a hard day riding.
I camped once and it was nice but I go when it isn't insanely hot.
