Yep - same here on my '13. Followed the directions posted around here, and ended up cracking two of my driver's side mirror tabs when upgrading to LED Puddle Lights. Passenger side was fine with the same exact procedure (even did the Passenger side first!), but was still a bit of a "pull" to get it off, and the removal "POP!" was unsettling to say the least.
Ended up replacing the Driver's mirror insert (like $55?) with a new one a few days later as Hot Glue by itself wasn't strong enough to keep the cracked one in place, and I didn't want to use any stronger adhesives for fear of future removal issues...
Seems like there should be a "Less Stressful" way (less stressful to the plastic tabs
and to the person doing the removal!
) to remove the mirrors on the 13' and prior models. Proceed with extreme caution!
