Front windshield washer not working

Hey guys, I think this is my first post over here. I usually spend my time on the 3rd gen section since the wife won't let me mod her ride very much.

On to my problem. In the last couple days the front washer hasn't worked. I assumed it was frozen because its been high teens to mid 20s.

This afternoon everything has warmed up and thawed and still no go on the front washers. Rear washers work fine.

I've disconnected the line as close to the nozzles as i can get an I'm getting fluid to there.

We got this back from the shop a few weeks ago after a collision that resulted in a new hood. Not sure if they've been used since then.

At this point I assume the nozzles are stopped up but cannot figure out how I would clear them out or how I would remove them from the hood.

Any help is appreciated.

Doc

Frozen @20 degrees! I sure hope not. What do you run as washer fluid? I see that your in TX so you probably don't need the hardcore stuff but hopefully it is better than water... If compressed air does not work, I would head back to that shop and see what they messed with while replacing the hood. Also I have heard of people sticking pins into the nozzles to loosen up what ever is in there, but I would not recommend that without reading up on it a bit first.

I would agree with everything in the above, you don't want to stick sewing needles into these washer nozzles like older ones (my 4th Gen has older adjustable streams), the fan style washer nozzles are designed a specific way and you can damage them as they are mainly plastic.

Also to the OP are you finding that the hood area is wet when you use the washer? Or is it dripping significantly? They may have left a line unplugged.

It may not have frozen. I just assumed it was. No idea what was put in last. My wife had the oil changed at a Midas because 1. I don't change the oil in the 5th gen…..once was enough for me; and 2. She was leaving town and couldn't get it to where I normally take it.

Anyway, to answer your question, Fluid isn't leaking anywhere. I unhooked the line at the point that it splits to the 2 sprayers and hit the switch and got plenty of flow. I'm sure its in the sprayers just don't know how to remedy that.

I thought I'd update this since I finally got it fixed and feel like a dumb@$$ for not figuring it out before. It seems that when the hood was replaced the guys didn't reconnect the valve that splits the supply line to the left and right washer nozzle. I'll get some better pictures and post them but basically they reversed the supply line and the right side washer line.

Had the runner in for transmission flush and they told me I needed a new valve. I replaced it same as they had it hooked up and no workie so I started playing with it and took 5 min to figure out.

So now maybe if anyone else runs into this issue and searches they can find a solution.

Doc.
