Example, C&D tested a 2010 FWD Enclave.
Curb: ~4900 lbs
0-60: 7.4s
1/4 mile: 15.9s

C&D tested a 2009 AWD Traverse
Curb: 4954 lbs
0-60: 7.6s
1/4 mile: 15.9s@88mph

C&D teested a 2007 AWD Acadia
Curb: 5052 lbs
0-60: 8.1s
1/ mile: 16.4@85mph

C&D tested a 2010 4Runner Trail
Curb: 4780 lbs
0-60: 7.8s
1/4 mile: 16.1s@88mph

The C&D data says the Lambdas keep up with the 4Runner when you account for curb weight (F=ma).

---
Edmunds tested a 2010 2WD SR5
Curb: 4320 lbs
0-60: 7.2s
1/4 mile: [email protected]

Edmunds tested a 2010 AWD Enclave
Curb: 5050 lbs
0-60: 8.6s
1/4 mile: [email protected]

Edmunds tested a 2010 AWD Traverse
Curb: 4919 lbs
0-60: 8.6s
1/4 mile: [email protected]

It looks like the 4Runner kicks the Lambdas around, but the base 2WD 4Runner is ~15% lighter than the GMs. Also, if you look at the test report, the 4Runner was tested when it was 54 degrees. The two Lambdas were tested when it was 83, that's about a 6% difference in density altitude (the 4Runner will make more horsepower). Taking weight and air density into account, the two vehicles are equal again.

Hopefully our 4Rrunner will loosen up and get some summer gas in her in a bit to get the mpg up past 20. So far, the 4Runner is the only vehicle I've ever driven that gets less than the EPA sticker number. The rental Acadia was one of many that beat it.
In town the Acadia is a bigger pig than the 4Runner at least according to my neighbors numbers.

FYI the Pedal Commander module to adjust the throttle sensitivity is on Amazon for $299, but BattleBornOffroad.net has it for $230.

Wow! A 5+ year old thread back from the dead!

After all of the correct info on how to better drive a 4Runner I half expected someone to chime in and complain about poor gas mileage if they were always mashing the gas pedal, LOL.

Can't ever really please people who don't do their own homework.
