Tire Suggestions?

So I'm loving my new 2014 SR5, but the tires are just plain awful. I think I'm going to buy a designated winter / rim set for next season, but wondering if I should replace these tires for some better all seasons for this summer. Any suggestions for a good all round tire?

Some great tire threads started by @1engineer and @JB. :

AT Tires

LT tires need more air pressure.

Timmy, hide - quick! I can hear them coming from the reform school for Advanced Google Studies and they can sense it when there is a newb, non-searcher in our midst.

Canazes gave you good advice on those threads. There are others as well. I am also changing tires on my '14 LE and have decided to go with Cooper Discoverer A/T3s in 275/55/20. Good luck!

Anyone have thoughts on Michelin MTX M/S2 in 285/70/17 for extended highway use?

Ain't that the truth. Or even if you search, but are having no success because you don't have the right word or phrase and ask for help, some Yo Yo will complain about that too.

Do you mean the LTX? I have the 265/70/17 LTX/MS2's and I don't think there is a better AS tire. I've had them in about 6" of snow, wet nasty slush on I70, scree covered Jeep roads and I never had an issue. Never had them in sand or deep mud, so I can't say on that terrain.
When I get the 2014, they're going on that unit as well. It's hard to justify an AT or dedicated snow tire because these are so good, and 90% of my driving is Hwy.

Timmy, you're certainly on the right track vs a semi-round or partially round tire, which will have a more rough ride.

I run winter tires/wheels and chose P-rated Continentals for "summer".

If you are going to get a set of designated winter tires, I will throw a vote in for firestone winterforces. I had a set installed for 600 out the door and they are great.

I've really enjoyed my Nitto Terra Grapplers, and I'm big fans of the Toyo Open Country AT2 XT as far as ATs are concerned.

for MT's its only 3 tires that i will consider: Cooper STT, Toyo OCMT, and General Grabber Red's

I've had BFG KM2s, GY MTRKs, BFG KOs, BFG KM's, GY MTRs (original), and a few others that don't fit into this crowd: and i can say the above 3 "chosen ones" are completely awesome tires and i can't wait to have one of those MT's on my rig again

Can't go wrong with the Michelins, either the m/s2 or the at2. Not sure if the at2 is available in that size in a p metric or not. If not, the m/s2 may be the better choice for ride and the at might do slightly better in snow but could be a harder tire and not ride quite as good. I have had both on other vehicles and both roll smooth and last a long time.

What tires did yours come with OP? I know in 2011 they could come with Bridgestone Duelers or Dunlops. I was happy to see the Duelers on mine when it was delivered.

I have had the Nitto Terra Grapplers too and they do well and ride well but they probably won't last quite as long.
