Post alignment issue

my steering wheel was cocked to the left a bit after I found a hole. I went and got it aligned, and it was cocked to the right a whee bit. So I took it back. They realigned it and apologized. While today I was backing out of the parking spot and heard my tire rubbing. After looking at everything, they have one of the adjusters all the way out on the adjustment lobes in the lower control arm, and the other all the way in. It's gone the lower a arm cocked at an angle and moved the wheel forward about an inch maybe. Was this just them being lazy because they had to stay late to redo the alignment a couple times to get the steering wheel straight or what's the deal? The other one is right in the middle of the adjustment both front and rear. I'm not an alignment expert, and everyone on here seems to talk about it a lot, so someone who knows chime in.

Did they give you a printout of the alignment settings?

No I asked for one but they had all left already. Just the bimbo with the keys.

You may want to go back and see if they saved the before and after angles. If they did, they can select it and print it out for you. As for the LCA cams, it sounds like you may have slightly bent something and they had to move the cams 100% to get the alignment in spec. It won't hurt anything to run them like that but sometimes can create tire rub. See if you can loosen the screws holding the fender liner and push it forward then tighten the screws to hold it in place.

Yup, I'd check the tie rods to make sure they aren't bent.

I mean how do you tell it's bent? Obviously a straight edge against the Rod itself, but what about the inner and outter tie rod ends? I didn't see anything glaringly obvious. Same on the upper control arm and lower control arm.

My alignment guy is the one who found the tie rod was bent. As he'd adjust the toe it'd start to move toward spec but then it'd move back out again. My outer was bent right at the ball so it was almost impossible to see until he started adjusting it.

Rubberdown, You have to admit it does sound a little like a Jay Leno bit.
Get back with us on your final visit to your alignment guy.
