I apologize if I missed this in the other thread... what is the GB price for the cage?

And, does anyone know of any good deals/coupon codes for the battery?

Thanks.

Images (from image sites) are blocked at work... So I am assuming it's a picture of the price. haha. Thanks for clarifying.

I'm still on the fence. Need to find a great deal on the battery to go along with this.

There usually is some sort of deal online. I got both my Diehard batteries at Sears and got a good deal on both of them (I have a 35D waiting for my dual battery set up). I contacted my local sears with the online sale price and they matched it.

Okki

Edit: Per Google Shopping:
$279.99 Diehard platinum marine battery group size 31m (price with exchange) --> Sears
$114.99 Diehard marine / rv battery group size 31m (price with exchange) --> Sears

Other brand Group 31M batteries were equal price or more expensive than the listed Platinum battery.

$125 + shipping. So you're saving approx $35 (depending on where it needs to be shipped to).

Am I missing something, or does this just replace the stock battery clamp?

The cage replaces the OEM battery tray and battery tie-down. A Group 31M doesn't fit the OEM tray so you have to remove that part to fit the (significantly) larger battery. The long j-hooks of the OEM tie-down allow the battery to twist due to their length (and the now missing tray). With the heavier weight of the 31M, this becomes a concern under offroad conditions. When fitting a 31M, the leads from the alternator are also a tight fit, which also becomes an issue if the battery were to twist under the OEM tie-down.

This cage holds the larger battery and has the tie-down points low on the cage. This prevents the whole setup from twisting. The beefier hardware also reduces the risk of the j-hook breaking (which granted is a limited risk if the battery twists under the OEM tie-down, but I'll take it as a bonus risk reduction).
