Jtolly's 2015 Super White TEP Build Thread
Hey guys!! I've been stalking this EPIC forum for over a year now and I love how tight-knit you all are! It's refreshing to see everyone helping each other out. Soooo... without stalling anymore... on with the good news! Today I drove into my local Colorado Springs, Co Toyota dealer and FINALLY pulled the trigger on a new T4R. She's a 2015 Super White Trail Edition Premium w/ KDSS, and should be here in less than 2 weeks (dealer says in transit). I had my name on this dealerships first 2015 T4R TRD PRO, but they were not going to discount it (I understand its a rare truck) and they are NOT coming with a sunroof. :-( So, I picked up this one up at what I think is a great price, and it will be here soon. So, I'm started this build thread to help get ideas for my build. Here's what I was thinking so far.
- 17″ Konig Six Shooter in Graphite Gunmetallic (on order)
- 285/70/17 duratracs (Completed)
- Spidertrax spacers (Completed)
- Bilstein 5100's all around (Completed)
- Gobi Stealth with ladder
- Shrockworks front bumper
- Warn 9.5xp
- HID headlight fitment
- Front tint to match (Completed)
- Proclip iPhone 6 Plus mount (Completed)
LMK what you guys think and if you have any recommendation.. as I'm a T4R Noob. Thanks again for all your help in advance!
Joe

So the TRD PRO does not come with a sunroof?? If so that is good news to me as I don't want a sunroof to have better headroom.

You can order a 2015?!?!
Wait a minute!!! You can order a 2015 now?!
I have been searching the entire country for a white Trail edition premium with KDSS. My local dealer - Oklahoma - can't order one (gulf states region can't hardly get KDSS).
I was prepared to fly to Montana or somewhere to buy one and drive home. But heck, if I can order a 2015 now in Colorado (11 hour drive) and have it in a few weeks , that would rock!
So again - you just said you ordered a 2015 TEP with KDSS in Colorado Springs?! Right?

Good start to a build. My recommendation is to install everything but the wheel spacers. You won't need them with the offset of your Konigs. It will only add to the rubbing of the body mount/fender liner especially if you go with 295s instead of 285s.

Congrats on the forthcoming T4R-TEP with KDSS!
I've had mine now for three weeks and while the salesman I was working with did all he could to find me a 14 TEP w/KDSS (even offering other dealer maxed out LE, but no bites on swap)...so I ended up buying mine from Toyota of Bozeman (MT) (there's a backstory, but not relevant).
Toyota of Bozeman experience was awesome and as a Professional Nature/Landscape photographer, it was a no-brainer to come home via Yellowstone & Grand Teton's!
Your initial build list looks good (as others have said). Look forward to a Build Thread once you take possession.

I was in the same boat but not for a Premium. Probably the hardest combination to locate. I ended up with the Gray Metallic with KDSS, an am starting to think I made a good choice, even though I was dead set on a white one. The only one we could find was in Kallispel, MT... just a stones throw from SC.

Dang, Kalispell is where the current one I'm eyeing is. Kalispell has it figured out I guess. And, a trip to MT wouldn't be a bad thing. But, if I can order a 2015 12 hours closer, that would be nice.
(Sorry for the hijack - your the first one I've heard of with a 2015 on order - CONGRATS!!!).

The drive home would be fantastic!! Since Kalispell is basically at Glacier National Park, you'd be remiss if you didn't take in Road To The Sun, before heading south through Great Falls and down through Bozeman, etc. if taking the scenic drive. LOL
I flew from Denver to Bozeman (using frequent flyer miles on United) and drove home via Yellowstone & Grand Tetons, taking in a couple of specific locations for photographic purposes.

Thanks guys for all the positive posts... I'm BEYOND excited to say the least!!!
Its a LOOOONG story but in the end... YES... I have a 2015 TEP on the way. I didnt order this one from the factory. It just happened to be on its way to Denver, and I snagged it. I just got off the phone with my sales person tonight and he said that it was in transit to the dealership now. Should be here by the end of the month or the first week of next.
Sorry I'm a noob and I dont know how to turn the pictures.

what option codes did you get with the 2015 TEP?
I've been trying for the longest time to find a 2014 Limited in Blizzard White with a black interior. But how I want it doesn't exist in California...
I do not want:
-No automatic running boards (all California 4runners that are in inventory seem to have this)
-No 3rd row seats (almost all inventory ones have this)
I want:
Sliding Rear Cargo Deck w/ underfloor storage compartment (CD)
All Weather Floor Mats & Cargo Tray (2Q)
Cargo Cover (5A)
mud flaps (MF)
The sales lady I'm working with has entered in this build for the next allocation for Northern California. Originally it was suppose to happen last week, but turns out the California Toyota distributor is not importing any 4runners in the first boat for 2015 MY toyotas from Japan... I need to wait 2 weeks to know if any 4runners are going to be produced for the next allocation for Northern California. Then pray Toyota production accepts my build configuration. I'm hoping they do, because only the sliding cargo tray is a factory installed option. Everything else are port installed options.
rant over...
I'm getting corporate fleet pricing from my sales lady... I'm so tempted to call an out of state dealer and say... listen I want this... get it for me and deliver it to my front door and be done with it... btw fleet pricing is the same as truecar.com so don't think that I'm getting a steal on the car.

One thing I dont get though is the 30th anniversary discount still listed on this 2015(but hey... I'll take an extra $750 off LMAO). My dealer assured me that this was a 2015 due to the change in the vin number. I guess 15's have an F in a specific line and 14's have an E... something like that.
