Those of you with Shrockworks Sliders...

I just ordered a set and I've been reading that you have to drop the factory gas skid.

My question is does the slider go under the mount or over?

I want to get a set of RCI skids and don't want to have to take my slider off to get my new gas skid on. I want to do this one time haha.

Thanks in advance!!

You don't need to drop the skid, only remove one bolt if I remember correctly since it's been a couple of years since I installed my sliders. In fact it's not the skid, but the actual tank mounting strap. I pulled my tank skid a couple of weeks ago to beat out some dents and the sliders don't share any mounting points with the skid.

To clarify a bit, you drop one side of the skid plate to allow you to completely remove the driver's side gas tank strap. If you don't drop the skid plate you can't remove the bolt completely.

There are a couple of threads related to the Shrockworks, search for "Installing Shrockworks on my 2014 TE with KDSS".

Sorry, but apparently I'm too stupid to figure out how to post the link to the thread.

So I can install my new gas tank skid after my sliders without having to remove anything?

That is a Schrockworks slider I pictured above. Whether the gas tank skid attaches at one of the hard points on either side of, or at the gas tank strap is the big question. You may need to call RCI to find that out. The pictures at their website aren't clear enough for me to tell.

Yes. The front one is nowhere near the gas tank.
