Congratulations. I completely agree with your thought process and have done the same process myself several times.

But I have to say when I stood there at the FJ Summit, staring at that all black TRDP with leather, I lose all sense of reason.

BTW - How is life out there? I miss Ventura County.

Congratulations, looks like a fun plan. I notice more TEs lately in the new posts.

If you are not burdened with a M-F job, Pismo/Oceano is not far from you. Let us know, I want to go back with another T4 to run the dunes.

(M-F means Monday to Friday, not the other MF which may apply too.)

Congratulations on the new rig. Your reasoning and mathematical plan was spot on. But again that's what makes vehicles awesome! You can make it your own, and you did just that. Looking forward to the completed pics!

I'm just going to throw out that I don't think the TRDpro will perform substantially better than a TEP... in 99% of vehicle use. I understand the draw from a looks perspective, and having full warranty... but if you took a TRDpro and TEP out on the same off-road adventure, my guess is both vehicles would make it to the destination.

Your plan seems solid, and I think I would do the same thing.

You got a great deal.
Was your cost OTD price or TTl on top?

Why bother with the overpriced emblems?

The only thing I'd consider is to get rid of the side steps and get sliders. That will be your limiter now. Great plan though, spot on!

Agreed. They're coming off with the mods. Was thinking of N Fab.

Yes it was, since tax/license is different in every area I wanted to use the base figures for comparison purposes.

On edit, no it wasn't . . .

@ $130 it seemed like reasonable blig.

I really wanted the TRDP, I'm paying a bit of a premium to build my own. The ICON system will provide adjustments and flexibility I would't have with the OEM coil overs.

The NFabs aren't sliders, they're nerf bars. With the way the steps come down you're more likely to get caught on something and damage the bars.

Agree with sn_85.....N-FAB currently doesn't make any real sliders for the 5th Gens. I've been on the phone with them earlier asking. I was told the one's they plan on making will bolt the same place as the running boards, which to me makes no sense. Not enough support.
N-FAB made/makes the OEM Rock Sliders for the FJ Trail Team Editions that bolt to the frame, That's what I would want on my truck, nothing less.
Waiting on a call from them to see if they are going to make something like that...

just sayin'
