If routine maintenance is performed...how long do they last?
Just did a lease buy-out on my 2011 TE...
I have ~80,000 miles on it (bought in oct of 2010) and am pretty good about keeping up with regularly scheduled maintenance on this vehicle and aside from the occasional off roading forays treat it pretty gently.
Goal is to get to 200k without anything major happening to the motor, drive train, etc...
possible?

Someone always has to draw the short straw but you should be able to get 500,000 miles if you keep it serviced and fix stuff as it breaks. It's a toyota. 200,000 miles should be easy

I sure hope mine last that long. I had my cammed and modded Z28 for 16 years problem free. The only thing I had to replace was the water pump after 15 years. Still the factory alternator, starter, radiator and fuel pump. Hope my 4Runner lives up to that. The Camaro is still running strong with the new owner.

you are in Georgia...
on thing we have to contend here in PA is road salt, which they use A LOT of...even though i take it to the touchless car wash a couple of times a week for the undercarriage wash, I am already showing signs of rust in spots underneath.

Several owners reporting in the FJ Cruiser forums of over 300,000 miles of nearly trouble free ownership. The FJ uses the same power train as the 4Runner.

Having owned a Tacoma and 3 4R's, I would say it'll last until you're bored with it. I drive a lot and tend to trade them in between 100-150k and the only problem I've ever had was a broken strut that holds up the lift gate on my 2010 (watch, that said, I'll throw a rod tonight...)

The thing that kills most of these trucks in my opinion is age. With yours being a 2011, the rubber (seals, gaskets, bushings) is still in good shape. At the rate you are driving you will hit 200k miles in the next few years probably and the truck will still have life left. As long as you keep it serviced, and keep an eye/ear out for anything that looks odd or sounds odd you will probably be just fine.

I just sold my 2000 with 217k on it. It was an original AZ truck. Thats good in the sense that is was dry and rust free but it also survived 15 years of intense AZ sun and heat too. By the time I sold it, there were no issues with it.

I've been slowly replacing the rubber on my 97 truck with 191k on it. Other than lots of worn out bushings, gaskets and seals the truck is still running strong at nearly 17 years old. Materials just start to break down after a while.

Regular maintenance is the key. Follow all the guidelines on oil changes and major service items.
A buddy of mine did a very long overdue flush and fill on his transmission and the new fluid with the new cleaning agents cleaned out the built up gunk around the worn out seals that was holding the fluid in and it ended up dumping all the fluid and needing a rebuild. Had he done regular maintenance (i.e. every 50K miles) instead of waiting until 150K miles he would have been fine. The fresh transmission fluid contains additives that recondition the seals and keep them in much better shape.
Of course, there's always the very small percentage of mass produced vehicles that has a premature failure when pretty much every other vehicle from the batch lasts 2-3 times as long. Even the highest quality vehicle manufacturers have a couple that roll of the line with problems once in a while.
But if you don't have one of those and keep after the maintenance, there's no reason you shouldn't see 300K+ miles or more trouble free.

My Dad had a Gen II go 250K and he only followed Toyota recommended maintenance. Bought this when he retired and a Bass Boat. Travelled and hit just about every Lake and Pond in Upstate New York. Other then normal item replacements---The only failure was his Automatic Antenna. Traded the Gen II for a Gen III truck that outlasted Pop....was just broken in at 150K when he past away. Was on his 3rd-4th go around on his bass fishing! This Gen 3 truck was a 3.4L 5-speed and was a great ride. Wish we still had it.
If you take care of it, don't beat on it, it will last a very long time easily in the 200-300K range.

Forever.
It really just depends on what your current interest/commitment level is. Most people give up when depreciation has reached the current repair cost. That should be in the 200-400k mile range. Most of the drive train, frame, and body can probably go much longer.

My old 1996 T4R that was in my family from the beginning had every routine maintenance performed is now with a good friend of mine and running great. It is almost 18 years old with 225K miles and runs like a champ. Even the paint is in excellent shape.
