Heated seat wire harness part number?
As a new user, let me start off by saying hello! I just purchased a new 2015 4Runner Trail after driving a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee for the last 10 years. As much as I wanted to get a new Jeep, it just can't match the off-road performance of a 4Runner, and not without costing at least 3K more! I'm really enjoying the 4Runner so far, and I'm glad I bought the model that I did.
With that introduction out of the way, on to my question! I really wanted to get heated seats in my Trail, but I can't stand sun roofs (I'm 6'4"), and I didn't really want the faux-leather either. Since the Trail Premium is an all-or-nothing kind of deal, I decided to pass and go for the standard Trail. My dealer assured me I could get the heated seats installed afterwards, which sounded good to me.
After realizing that the heated seats would be aftermarket and not OEM, I started doing a little research. After reading numerous posts on this forum and others, I discovered that you can order the real OEM seat heaters, switches, and related parts, and install them in the proper locations in the vehicle. I've located almost all the parts including the heating pads (both seat bottom and back), control modules, control module connectors, switches (left and right), and the wiring harness for the center console. The only part I think I am missing is the wiring harness that would go underneath each seat.
So my question is, can anyone who has a 2014 or 2015 Trail Premium or Limited with heated seats take a quick look and see what the part number is on those wiring harnesses? Also, if you think there are any other parts I'm missing I'd love to know. Thanks!

Anyone with a 5th gen T4R with stock heated seats able to look under their front seat for the part number? Even if its a few years old it should still help lead me in the right direction!
Edit: I found this site: http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_U_201...KA_8202.8.html
Looks like my choices are wiring it up like an SR5 with synthetic leather, or wiring it up like a Limited? Isn't the Trail wiring more similar to that of the Limited?

Hi Ezekiel,
I'm not 1000% sure but a lot of "stock wire harnesses" are built to include the accessory options of the higher trim level vehicles. This helps the manufacturer cut the cost of stocking two or more different wiring parts for essentially the very same truck. I think the first time I looked inside of 'what is known as' the... "Lower knee-bolster panel"; just below the steering wheel, I noticed a white, unattached male harness plug. I was installing the new PIAA fog-light kit and switch. When it came time for me to reconnect all of the wiring to the knee air-bag panel, I noticed a small white plastic plug and didn't know where it came from.
After searching for an empty female connector space, I remembered seeing this plug just 'hanging there' when I first removed the panel. Then I became aware that this was a pattern or normal toyota procedure! It's actually cheaper for the manufacturer to include a multi-function harness, then it is to construct a precisely matched cable for every specific vehicle PS: The small white plastic plug, is for the 4Runner's "Motorized Automatic Running Boards"; an option that I did not select when I ordered the truck!
If you haven't already done so, take a look at your power seat wiring harnesses that are there. I'll bet you're already equipt with these upgrade harnesses! Good luck, and let us know what you find!
rigtec, cheers

Hi Ezekiel,
The Limiteds have perforated air blower seats and the SR5/Trail have heat pad seats, so you want to do your wiring the way of the SR5. I'm new the this forum but not forums all together. I just purchased a 14' Magnetic Grey Limited.

it'd be a great contribution if you would post all the part numbers for all the pieces for your OEM seat heater retrofit. i don't believe anyone has done that before. (only aftermarket kits.)

I would bet my retirement money that those wires aren't there under your seat. I have worked on several different 5th Gens and the harnesses are different for each specific truck for the most part.
Toyota is super tight when it comes to copper, Lol.

I concur. Pretty sure any plugs not plugged in in your existing harness are for possible port installed options only. Harnesses for Toyota are built exactly for the vehicle and that vehicle's options. Nothing more, nothing less. Is it a good way? It's Toyota's way.

Thanks for all the replies! I'll take a look under my seats and see if there are any spare connectors.
I find in interesting that all the seat wiring harness on that ToyoDIY site are either listed as "SR5" or "Limited"; there's no mention of Trail at all. The same goes for all the other parts I'm looking at. It's almost like from a parts perspective, the Trail doesn't exist (or just uses all the same parts as one of the others).
In the mean time, does anyone know what the difference is between "seat No.1 and 2" and "front seat RH and LH"? Are 1 and 2 the back seats, or different nomenclature for the front seats?
Once I've got everything ordered and installed successfully I'll gladly post the full list of parts for those looking to do the same upgrade. I'll hold off for now, just to avoid any confusion.

I just remembered this thread which may contain your info in this post...?
Will Wet Okole heated seat covers work with Toyota factory switches?
If not maybe elsewhere in the thread...Good Luck!

The Trail did not have heated seats up until '14.

"Well DAM"... there goes that theory; and an 'otherwise' perfect day!
So glad you's chimed in

Well I looked under my seats, and I couldn't see any extra connectors. So now the question is which ones do I order? Looking at ToyoDIY.com again, I'm leaning towards parts 82191-35030 and 82192-35020. Anyone agree or disagree?
