SR5 w/ Bilstein 5100's vs KDSS

We are in the hunt for a 4runner. My wife wants a Trail Premium because of the KDSS and the other features that they have. She it set on white and that is proving a problem because it's been tough to find a white Trail Premium.

The dealer said that they can add swap hoods with a hood scoop and put leather in there so I would try to work that into a deal. My main question is around the suspension.

She test drove the SR5 and didn't like it because it rolled too much in the corners and just felt a little "floaty". She understands that it is an SUV but wants a little stiffer ride.

Would a set of 5100's help with that or would it still have quite a bit of roll? How would a SR5 with 5100's compare with the Trail Premium and the KDSS?

Had a full set of 5100's installed on my Trail Premium this week and it made a significant difference in handling and ride. Fronts are set at .85" of lift. I'd say 75% less nose dive and less body roll in corners. I've got LT Load Range C tires which helps some too. Haven't driven a Trail w/ KDSS but hear its a great option for on-pavement handling.

My opinion - you should listen to your wife on this one!
I test drove an SR5 and an LE before finally purchasing the Trail Edition. The Trail definately has a more solid feel on pavement. (More truck-like / less "floaty")
Don't get me wrong - the other two drove beautifully, but maybe just a bit too smooth for an off-road vehicle, and somewhat soft and rolly on turns.

In the TE, sudden, emergency lane changes were solid and authoritative, with no significant body roll at all. Like being on tracks. The handling of the Trail inspires confidence.
I have not yet taken it off road, but the consensus seems to be that KDSS makes a difference there too. Just throwing on a hood scoop and some new shocks won't make it a TE.
