I talked to Fiberwerx a year ago about getting some made for the 5th gen. My fenders are slightly bowed out due to excessive turning on Black Bear Pass. They would need someone in the area (el cajon, CA) to drop off their rig for a few weeks to get one molded. I was going to be able to do it, but plans headed south and I never moved to CA.

A bit further than I want to drive, but I may just do it! Although, I may go with a sas if I do it! Either that or drive it to TC while the rig is down there and have them design a beefy real LT axle for us... Hmmm....Xmas is soon!

Here's a link to the article that mentions the bushwacker flares at SEMA mentioned above.

No clue. I checked the site earlier too and nothing. You may have to call them and ask if they've been released to the public or when they will be.

Their Facebook page stated those were specifically ONLY a concept at this time. It will probably depend on how much, if any feedback they get from the show. And I can tell you there wasn't much feedback on the Facebook page. I want a set and I encouraged them, but we'll just have to wait and see. I can say from the pictures it looks like they only widen the flare abut 1/2" - 1" and do not add anything to the overall surround area like some of their flares do. Here is another picture.

Flares are really an interesting mod because the reason people do it is varied. The Bushwacker version is a look, I think the ones that a few of us consider to be "real flares" are not even a concept at this point. They would also not be an add on, but rather a replacement of the quarter panel and all fender lining. The reason for flares is flex, compression, rubbing... this can be a result of a well done SAS or a LT suspension system. This is the reason many of the earlier posts were acting like there weren't any option or really any concepts yet. We need to have a fiberglass fabricator mock up a whole system, which is more similar to an aftermarket bumper versus stock than the stock flares versus add-on like Bushwacker's. However, there would always be a big market for add-on, since many people don't want to cut up their trucks etc. Once a real fender is done, nobody will do it without extreme suspension upgrades requiring it.

Good point bimrunner. I would like to see a pre-runner style fender made for the front end. I don't know if it is even practical to do for the rear area with the back doors being part of the fender cutout and side body flare. I would assume you would almost have to seal the rear passenger doors to put a real flare back there.
On another note, is it only me or does the 5th Gen 4R body look like it may be wider at the rear fenders than the fronts? If I stand directly behind a rear corner and look down the waistline it just looks like the rear fenders are about 1 1/2" - 2" wider overall than the front ones. I have to admit I haven't tried to measure it though. Heck, for all I know it's just an optical illusion, but it does get me wondering.
