Cooper ST MAXX
Looking to get new tires, just installed daystar 2.5/1.5 spacers, went on easy and works great for now.
I am looking at the Cooper st maxx as my first choice as of right now, I like the 255/75/17 size but according to the specs I have seen online at a couple different tire places that size is listed at 31.77 tall?
The st maxx in 265/70/17 is listed as being 31.80?
Isn't the 255/75/17 suppose to be the taller tire, a true 32" tire but skinner than the 265/70?
The weight is almost the same on both tires in the st maxx 51 and 53.
Anybody have any insight on this? is it a misprint on cooper's part?
My second choice is the BF Goodrich AT KO's in 265/70/17 or the new KO2's in 275/70/17
Thanks

I would like for the 255/80/17 to work and I looked at them, they are listed at 32.8 tall and 10.20 wide.
I don't think they would work without rubbing, if anyone has this tire with a 2.5/1.5 spacer lift please advise.
Thank!

I noticed that too. A 255/75/17 is usually a true 32" tall tire and the 265/70/17 being somewhere around 31.7". I posted this very question on a tacoma forum and asked if somebody could do a side-by-side comparison but nobody has done that yet.
Another interesting thing is the STmaxx in a 255/80/17 is only listed at 32.8".
I've been thinking of running either size on my 4th gen. Good reviews on these tires.

Yes they tend to get very good reviews, I am probably going to get them just trying to get true info on sizes, I would like the tall and skinny for my application.

Somewhere I saw a thread where a guy had 255/80/17 ST Maxx mounted up and recorded their heights on a wall before puttying them on his truck. I'm pretty sure he chalked them up to 33+ inches tall, which is what they should be. He was confused on Cooper's stated literature as well. I'll try and find the thread, it may have been on a tacoma board.

you shouldn't have any trouble with 255/80/17 and a 2.5" lift.

I am running the 255/75/17 ST MAXX on my TDRP.....I got these because it was the only size they offered in a "C" load rating.
I think you will enjoy this tire!

No rubbing what so ever....It is .4" narrower than stock, and about an .75" inch taller. It allows for full articulation of the suspension without any issue.

Great tires, slight rubbing in reverse when turning... Fender pull will fix that. Get em!

What psi you running? I'm at 41 cold. So far it's been best for economy and handling. AlexB suggested this as well, 40-43 cold.
